strange thing is, is that the purevideo decoder is set to be the preferred decoder (using decoder checkup utility)

but i only get purevideo icon when playing DVDs in media player classic or wmp 10. it doesnt come up during HD WMV.

my CPU is at 70%-80% during 1080 and 720p.

any ideas?

thanks,
Leon

82.12? not 84.12?

i thought hardware h.264/WMV wasnt supported in anything before the 84.12 beta set came out?

H264 support came out with 84.12.

WMV and WMV HD support came out in 67.03 beta.

If like me you have an AGP 6600 GT, WMV HD decode acceleration doesn't work ( no acceleration ) in any 80 series driver and H264 decoding produces garbled images. If unlike me you have a PCI-E 6600 GT, WMV HD and H264 decoding will work perfectly.

All AGP 6800, 6800 GT, 6800 Ultra, 6800 XT, 6800 GS have broken programmable video processors as do the PCI-E 6800 GT and PCI-E 6800 Ultra.

All other cards have fully functional video processor support, except for the 6600 GT AGP ( note: I said AGP ) which has a fully functional video processor but seems to have issue going through the BR02 bridge chip.

Before I get flamed for my blashphemy, I tried an AGP X1600 Pro and WMV HD playback was perfect as was H264 ( though this was signicantly less impressive in terms of CPU load than the 6600 GT ).
