If the chip has a 266 FSB then yes..I think they came both with a 266 and 333 FSB..Make sure you have a 266 and not the 333..

its the 333 fsb
but like i said i dont mind running it at 266 for now if it will work in the board untill i can afford a new motherboard
Check these forums (http://www.amdmb.com)
NICE MOBO!! I have the + version (ata-133 support), and I love it!!
Yes, it'll support an AXP2600+, just make sure you download the newest bios (f9 i think) so it'll recognize the 2600...
333fsb... keep this in mind... I haven't really heard of anyone runnin @ this freq. on a kt266a, but I'm in the middle of my attempt at that, and I'm not gonna give up... The project is stalled till I recieve my guaranteed unlocked AGOIA 1800+... details here... I have a mondo cooling setup to accompany my mod, and the updates'll be coming in the next week...
even in stock form our setups bench well...

i don't doubt sandra on this...
HEy I took out the stock 1800/PC2100, threw in an unlocked 1600 AGOIA, kept multiplier, ran 152 fsb stable on everything, and increased my Sandra score to 2280/1950... that score's only third on the athlonXP list of readings to dual ch. nforce2 and a kt400 with a 333fsb AXP...
dang, i'm gettin my money's worth outta this board!

I think it'll work, obviously it just wont run at the optimal speed. But I'm sure it'll still work well until your ready to upgrade your board. And when you are ready, just get a cheap NForce2 board and you should be all set. This MSI one is only $89us http://www.buymstar.com/detailsMainboard.asp?pid=1279
Also your current board may be able to overclock close to 166mhz, so if you RAM can handle it then try that first

the 2600 333 fsb version WILL NOT work in a 266a chipset (at correct frequency anyway) due to the lack of the 1/5 divider
