This card looks like a sure winner I think. Anybody have one? It's passively cooled and is clocked at 500 core, 900 mem. How does it compare to the X1600XT??

Hi,

I have the XXX (see sig), the 7600GT is a lot faster than the X1600XT, in fact in almost all cases its as fast if not faster than a X1800GTO.

do a google on 7600Gt reviews and read a few - best way to make your mind up is see the figures yourself.

What about the 7600GS Xtreme Edition?

its a lot slower than the GT but it still keeps up with the X1600XT most of the time.

get the GT though, its worth saving the extra few $ for.

Normally I would, but I require dual DVI and something passively cooled for the HTPC. Gaming will be moderate, so I think the 7600GS should suffice, especially since it's already closer in speed to the GT than most other GS models due to it being overclocked out-of-the-box.

The GT has dual DVI for the record.

or at least mine does.

But it's not passively cooled. Noise is more important to me than gaming performance in an HTPC :)
