Clovertown scores revealed (http://sharikou.blogspot.com/2006/04/clovertown-scores-revealed.html)

I am really very surprised Intel quad core with 8Mb cache is performed worse than a AMD single core Athlon 64 with 512K cache!!!

It seem Conroe's weakness is FSB that AMD S939 and AM2 has advantages. I think Conroe is not really an amazing CPU now than first thought since Anandtech Conroe performance tests.

Just to let you guys know Shairikou's blog is very very biased in favor of AMD, heed my advice question any available information on that blog pertaining to the doom and gloom of Intel.

A more unbiased source for you guys on Clovertown DP performance.

On a single thread it is - no doubt.

The whole AMD vs intel vs thing boils down to single task speed (AMD: gamers, most home users) vs multitasking (Intel: work).

Love the old CPU coldpower27 btw. It's amazing how useful a P3 can still be these days if you aren't a gamer (or just play old games). I ran a dual pentium III-S 1.4ghz box for a while with no AGP slot but for a webbrowsing / code compiler, it actually killed!
