Hi

over @ mvktech.net i saw the PNY oc`ed bios (675/1640@1,45V) and checked it with Nibitor. I noticed that the 3D and Throttle-Speeds are the same! Is THIS perhaps the reason for the slightly better results than the higer clocked EVGA in 3DM06 in the article? Perhaps the "freezes" some people with oc`ed 7900 GTX cards experience have to do something with the throttle/3D Clock diffrences...like the good old 6800 Ultra time, where freezes could happen if 2D and 3D clocks were not equal?!

Did someone try the PNY oc`ed Bios? Does the card get mutch warmer because of the 1,45 V (1,4 is default!)

Does it perhaps cure your freezes (if you are one of the guys with probs)?

Perhaps this bios helps some of you! Good luck!

Nice find. I might try that PNY bios someday. 720 on the core is tempting.

Cool, please report back your results then. One guy over at mvktech.net forums has flashed his card with 1.45V PNY bios and although he could get high clocks pass the coolbit test but according to him 3DMark06 froze with those high 700+ clocks. (fine with lower clocks though)

Maybe you get better results otherwise I guess we need to lower the delta a bit and make a new custom bios out of the original PNY OC bios, the +50 delta clock jump may have something to do with his 3DMar06k lockups at 700+ core clocks. (~770-780 Geometry if we want to stay at 720-730 although mvktech admin was talking about 740ish core clock!! )

Just in case someone else wants to try it, here is the PNY bios with 1.45V Core. Link (http://www.mvktech.net/component/option,com_remository/Itemid,26/func,fileinfo/filecatid,1565/parent,category/)

and these are two forum threads about that PNY bios:

Hi

Do you think there is any kind of risk flashing to 1,45V??

Temperature problems or damaging the GPU in a while?

Well only time will tell, most of the Voltmodded/Raised Vcore cards end up dying alot sooner than normal cards but then again people who know what they are doing while Vmodding/ upping the core Voltage are willing to take the risk and enjoy the benefits, cuz they prolly end up changing thier cards at the rate they change socks that means before the card finds a chance to die on them.

Its do it at your own risk stuff imo.
