If it has already been posted my apologies.

Nvidia will have a motherboard solution for Conroe with SLI. They would be dumb not to.

Yeah all that means is nvidia isn't supporting the Intel chipsets and SLI, they will surely make their own.

Yea, we all already knew that nVidia was not going to support SLI on Intel chipsets

I think that Nvidia should support all INTEL Motherboards for SLI because people would prefer to buy Two Nvidia GPU Cards for SLI than they would the ATI Crossfire set's. JMHO.

Asus can build anything.

So then where is thier 7900GTX Uber-Geek edition for the AGP platform? ;)

Well, in all fairness, they tend to make the boards, gfx or motherboard... Without designing the chipset or the GPU, they are somewhat limited in what they can do. They need to incorporate products that were already put out there in their board. Perhaps they could find a work around for this, perhaps not...

But until they design the chips themself, I wouldn't quite go so far as to say they could do anything. Well, at least I'm hoping you're not 100% serious here :D

Yeah I was kidding I forgot to add the NaaanaaaNaaaaa. I have used ASUS sence 1995 and have always been really happy with all 9 bazillion mobo's I have purchased.

True, they did do a dual gpu card though. I hope if Evga does a 7900GT AGP that others will follow.:rw:

It is NV's propriety technology and if Intel wants to use em...sure Intel can pay NV a royalty fee? :p

On E3 show held last week in Los Angeles, nVIDIA was happy to show Dell's XPS machine running a Conroe CPU on an nForce 590 Intel Edition motherboard equipped with two GeForce 7950GX2 boards, e.g. QuadSLI.

So, there you have it. When Nvidia launches its nForce 500 series for Intel, you can be certain that it will have no problems with Conroe in the socket. In fact, there are some interesting features that are being prepared. Codenamed Trinity or Tritium, the feature will be actually marchitecturally named LinkBoost, as it is featured on many motherboard boxes that are currently leaking on the net. In fact, there is a nice performance bonus when running a LinkBoost-enabled graphics cards on nForce 590 instead of running it on i975X or any other upcoming chipset from Intel or other competitors.

The Nvidia NForce5 590 x16 Tritium Motherboard looks like it is going to be a rockin platform to run the Conroe's on.

Problem is than Intel chipsets are way superior to NVIDIA ones concerning stability, thus people buying Conroe will want Intel chipsets mostly. Major AMD disadvantage were (and are) horrible third-party chipsets, being it NVIDIA, ATi or VIA.. If NVIDIA will not support SLI on Intel i975X, they will sell way less cards...

Just remember how much problems is NVIDIA having with HDDs, or try to use your Asus/DFI bord to its full potential, running out of IRQs. Your system will no way be stable than.

Intel boards do not have these problems..

really? the intel boards ive always worked with are always crap...

AMDs having crap chipsets really is a re-telling of yester-year. Back in the days of the K5s and stuff, the Via, SiS, and other chipsets left something to be desired. But in more recent years, AMD chipsets really had gotten better. And mind you, the Irongate chipset that AMD released with the original Athlon, and on the Asus K7M mobo wasn't bad at all...

Furthermore, it isn't like Intel hasn't had some botched up chipsets in their history either. Things like the i430 FX, the i440FX, the LX had some issues of it's own as well. Then on the other hand, the HX chipset was quite decent, as were, at least the latter BX chipsets that Intel produced. So much so, that it was ages before many computer manufacturers chose to go with the i8xx chipsets, prefering the good ol i440BX over things like the i815 and stuff, for quite some time back then.

Intel has made both good and not so good chipsets in their past. And AMDs have had support from better and not so good chipsets as well...
