I have an ASUS 7800 gtx 256mb graphics card and i would like to buy anohter 7800 GTX 256mb graphcis card to do SLI. I would like to know if the 2nd card has to be the same manufacture or can i buy a different manufacture card?

No they do not. As long as you use the 80 series driver they can be different manufactuers.

They still have to be of the same series GT GTX etc.

but they both have to be the same clock speeds? if i was to buy an xfx one with pre oc, do i just underclock to make them both same clock speeds?

Only requirement w/ 80 series drivers is that they be the same GPU. They will only run as fast as the slowest clocked card.

or do they run the same speed as the primary graphics card?

I believe it's the lowest clocked card. http://www.slizone.com/object/slizone2_rel80.html doesn't state either way, but I don't see the drivers upclocking by default.
