Need a program to convert VOB to mpeg4

Looking for a program to convert from Vob files to mpeg4. Two reasons: 1) vob files are too big 2) looking for something to hold good quality file at a smaller size while giving acceptable quality if I want to view it on a stand alone DVD player via burning.

I have Nero 6 software that will convert to Nero Digital, which I guess is mpeg4, but for some reason, it plays messed up in itunes/ipod (works great in nero's player and windows player 10). This is kind of what I'm looking for, but I need it to play correctly so I can view them on my ipod.

Any suggestions?

Tried that but some of my stuff is out of sync. I found a forum talking about this.

After digging deeper, I found this and trying it now with Nero that I already have from when I bought my DVD burner

I didn't check the option for quicktime compatibility so that's prolly why I get green crap on my video and plays funny.

try Nero 7. It now has a new ipod mode which makes the video the correct resolution for ipod and itunes. It also has the AVC version of it, providing much better quality and it encodes rather fast.
