With the 7900GT looking like a great card I decided to get one, along with a new mobo and cpu. I picked up an ASUS 7900GT and it was faulty and I exchanged it for a BFG 7900GT.

The BFG card running at 550MHz core and 1600 memory ran temps at idle 41c and peak of 66c after ATItool running for over an hour. I wasn't to happy with peak temp so I went and bought a Zalman VF900, the temp changes are dramatic, 35c idle and 46c peak, under the same conditions listed above. Thats 6c off idle and 20c off of peak, this cooler kicks ass.

And another plus is I now have heatsinks on the memory.

The cooler ran me $50 cdn but was worth every penny.

Running the same cooler on the 7900 GT. Good combination. ;)
Had some OCZ copper BGA heatsinks laying around so I used these in place of the aluminum sinks that come with the cooler.

wow, that's a great looking card with that Zalman heatsink, i've always loved their coolers, i use them on all my builds if i can afford it, you can't Zalman when it comes to quiet and cool

Looks that much sweeter with thoose little copper memory sinks.

I put them on for looks. The memory on this card does not seem to need much cooling. Better to use them instead of letting them set on the shelf. :D

Up and running.

I really gotta get me one of these, if I am to try a voltmod.

My BFG 7900GTs are running a little too hot for my taste.

Thanks for posting pics. Do you know about how far this cooler sticks out? It's hard to tell in the pictures.

It takes up one slot.

The double white wires are not the fan wires. I have a thermal probe temporarily hooked up to monitor temps.

Yea from the looks of it you could easily fit two of those bad boys for SLI. Very nice man.

That looks great with the copper heatsinks on the memory. Very nice. I have thought about getting one of these myself, especially after my card hit the low 90's C in ATITool after over an hour.

I decided to do the 1.4v mod to my 7900GT, card is running 650/1600 and scores 10483 in 3Dmark05.

The temperatures with the vmod are 2D idle 36c and 3D load 54c (ATItool half an hour), so if you did the vmod then the vf900 is for you.
