View Full Version : recommend WC sli 7900GTXs on a ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe

I've done a minor upgraded to my MB because of the wonderful ASUS chipset fans keep dieing on me (all three of my A8N-SLI boxes have had this happen)

I've upgraded to the ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe board and two BFG 7900GTX OCs.<- thanks to BFG they upgraded both cards (7800GTX oc 512) when one of my 512's failed, great service!

with my sound card between the two video cards (who designs this stuff??) my cards are getting rather warm.

I wanted to watercool just my video cards to reduce the temps and make some extra room on the MB.

any suggestions on waterblocks? I used DD's old blocks on my 6800U EEs and loved them but they are way too big and heavy.

What would everyone suggest for water blocks or even after market air coolers that would fit.

thanks in advance

I don't think there is a block made to fit the 7900's yet. I just ordered the Zalman Vf-900-cu and some OCZ copper heatsinks from newegg. I plan I buying one of the Asetek waterchill systems for the CPU and add the GPU later.

I also just picked up the Asus A8N32-sli D this past week. I haven't had much of a change to play around with it. I'm waiting on some ram, but so far so good.

The mounting holes are the same as the 7800 and 6800 series, so as long as you don't use a full coverage block yours will be compatible.

Both of my BFG 7900 GTX's cooled by the H20-120 PREMIUM Liquid Cooling Kit w/ two Swiftech MCW60 Universal VGA Waterblocks. Both GTX's run at 36-38'c idle. :)
