Not a preview, it's an official beta now.

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/downloads/default.mspx

The second link is for the download page.

My word of advice, if you are using IE 7 preview, please DOWNLOAD the executable files BEFORE attempting to do anything with the new beta or you might have issues.

Most people were fine with it but I had some issues.

My first impressions, the look is a LOT cleaner and it is much faster/smoother. That's saying something coz I thought the preview was pretty good.

Still working on looking at the other new/upgraded features.

Umm, what was downloaded before is listed as beta 2. This differs how? Is it still version 7.0.5335.5, or is it a newer build number?

If the build numbers are the same and it's just they made it "official", I might just leave it. If the build numbers actually changed, or there was some change in the code base, I might upgrade it...

The first Beta 2 was called the Beta 2 Preview. This one is just plain Beta 2. The version is now 7.0.5346.5.

5335.5 was kind of flaky for me. Hopefully this one will be improved, though I'll still probably use FF most of the time anyway.

This build seems to be faster, has some minor UI tweaks, and fixes some issues that cropped up with the leaked build. Overall, worth a download, in my opinion (IMO).

Sweet. This is great! It is definately a bit faster than the preview. My only complaint is for some reason it takes around 20 seconds to detect proxy settings everytime I start it. Kindof annoying...Anyone else have this issue?

EDIT: Ok so it looks like if you disable "automatically detect proxy settings" it loads a lot faster.

I like it, but not enough to stop using Avant. I'm hooked on the URL alias feature in Avant. This site is nv, ms for microsoft, g for google, etc.

Works much faster than bookmarks, and easier than the "pick one search engine" setup in IE 7.

glad to hear it's faster. The preview was freaking slow.

The preview had some bugs but was about the same speed as ie 6 for me.

If it was slow for you, consider submitting feedback, it might have been a config error or issue.

OK, so it is more then just a re-branding, but is an actual new build which brings something to the table...

thx, I guess I'll grab it latter, after BOINC finishes with some WUs... Don't want to lose crunched work, due to some units not having been save pointed yet :D

Sooo they finally got out an x64 version...right after I got annoyed with x64. Huh. Timing.

Still, I'm using it til Opera 9 is out on my XP box. When I go back to x64, I'll likely be using IE7-64 most of the time.

It's so much better than regular IE 6 and no mem leak or other crap like in FF.

I'm happy.

Now, for more extension support.

Ad block plugin would be nice... But somehow, I'm not holding my breath anytime soon. However, the Internet (web actually) is a much nicer place to visit with all em ads quelched :D

I can't do that out of respect for the sites running the ads. They do pay for my timewasting after all...
So even though I rarely click any ads....can't get myself to disable em.

Those full screen ads on IGN, though....holy crap that was irritating. I just stopped bothering with those sites.
