This looks really cool and should be a hot seller. And if EVGA Customers are already in the EVGA Step-Up Queue for another EVGA Card and are still within the 90-day requirment, they can change thier order to the 79 KO Edition.

Here is info on the EVGA Step-Up Program:

I moved this thread to this forum since we have members that are in the step-up Queue and might be interested in this card. :)

all they have to do is sell the heat sink by it self

interesting. It looks like it's slower than the SuperClock edition, core and ram but the same MSRP. Is the only difference the heatsink?
On a side note does anyone if it's possible to step up from a 7900gt to a 7900GTX?

Yes, the difference is the heatsink, finally some cooling on the memory! :D

Maybe KO stands for Kooled Off instead of Knock Out. :D Yo, jAkUp, can I get just the heatsink? ;)

Yeap, it's very possible. You can step up to anything from anything. You can even do step up by stepping down (7900GTX to 7300GS) if so desired. You just can't get any refund or credit back, that's all.

You would think that they would make this a step up from the super clocks in terms of performance.
I guess they cant get as many of the cores to pull of the clocks so they played it safe after the GTX deboggle.

Anyway they look nice and I bet they O/C well, it is confusing as to the clock speeds if this is the flag ship product in their GT line.

Anybody try this card with the 7900 volt mod? I am curious what kind of clock speeds it can run stable at. If it can do the 800Mhz that people talk about, that would be very good for the price it is currently at ($288 on newegg.)

The heatsink on the KO doesn't cool much better than the reference cooler.

I had my KO shipped to me 2 days ago and it idles at ~50* Celcius and loads at ~60-64* Celcius.

There's no way you can do the voltmod with this shoddy heatsink.

I'm actually gonna buy a VF900-Cu in the morning as a matter of fact.

they don't run as cool as my 7800GT did they stay at 49c to 50c idle and the 7800GT's stayed at 40c to 41c idle they run at 520/1540 but theu have a delta of 20mhz so they are running at 540 /1540 in 3d ,I have two one will overclock to 575/1850 and the other at 565/1950 so the 1.4ns memory on them is great.I have two Zalman VF900-CU on the way just in case I do volt mod them.

The 7900GT is very easy to voltmod ,on the 7900GT KO I volt-modded them to 1.4v and they would do 637/1800 but I kept them at 625/1800,but I wanted more memory so I bought two 7900GTX and so far they have been great.
