I've had good luck with my NEC 3500A. There are newer ones, 3520 or better out now. Cheap to boot. Maybe give one of them a try.

Probably grab a Lite-On or NEC.

At least here in the states, it's relatively inexpensive and the performance is pretty good.

Your site is blocked at work unfortunately :(

I have an AOpen DUW1608/AAR...must be model before the one your list. It's OK (it was cheaper at the time) but I like the NEC 3570A better as it seems a little faster and quieter.

I have a LG one and it's great. Hasn't made a single coaster. I have never had a problems with a LG drive so I'd recommend them. Although I'm sure other brands are just as good.

Buy mine. :D or the latest Pioneer model. I yet have to see it burn one DVD with hidden errors that makes it unreadable later on and/or burned out DVD-R/RW and I have burned like 200 DVDs with this thing.(I use high quality TDK DVDR tho)

plextor is usally consider the best, but I always had problems with the one I bought and they are to high,I recently bought a Lite-on and it would not read my CD's good ,It would say it had a bad sector ,but my sony would install it but with a cd scan it would show as damage but readable ,So I sent the Lite-on back and got the new Samsung SH-S162L/BEBN and it has been great ,no problems at all with it,I took the same CD and scan it and it showed all grren with no damage sectors ,so far it has been the best DVD burner I have ever owned plus it has everthing including Lightscribe and it has 5x-DVD ram, plus newegg has it on sale for $39.99

I erm bought the lG GSA-H10N :) Very fast and quiet too. 16X DVD+ and - R writes. 8X DL DVD+r writes and 6X DL DVD-r writes. erm...no DL media bought though :D They also had a lightscribe model but it was USD$15 more.

The shop didn't have any NEC models which I was going to get. Did have plextor but was about USD$20 more expensive.

BTW...when using partitioning software...backup your drives. I lost a lot of stuff while doing so. :(
