Hey everyone. Im interested in this product as its the most powerful AGP card I know. But before I swondering my money away at it I want to know if any here has had any bad exerience with it. I few people I know say the Gainward cards are troublesome so I want people here who has used gainward cards to give me their opinion on the product.

Regards

I get my 7800GS+ tomorrow and will make a post as soon as I have it installed and working. Had two previous Gainward cards and have no problems with either.

ok I heard they were limited stock. I plan to buy mine at the end of may. Will they be around still then?

That depends. Stock is limited so if a ton of people purchase some of these cards then stock will deplete quickly. If not too many people purchase this card, then stock should last a while. It all depends on how many people purchase this product. No one can predict accurately whether there will still be stock come next month- but odds are that there will be. ;)

Now lets get back to the subject of previous experiences with the card.

check signature - got card - got new power supply (Antec NEO 550) -installed card - this thing ROCKS>>>>

blasted to 4022 3dMark06 at 510/1420 with 24 pipes --i think i can go even higher.....

if you have money - it is a buy - there are only 1500 (maybe 2000) - this is really a PCI-e card disguised as a AGP and a GT not GS chip..This is the only 7900GT card with 24 pixel pipelines available on AGP. Then along with its 512MB of super-fast GDDR3 memory making this the worlds fastest AGP card ever produced. There is only 1500 units available worldwide!! So be quick as this is a deal not to be missed,

IT IS FASSSSSST>>>>>>>

My card was shipped out yesterday, expect it here in the states soon.

Your system is same as mine, we will have to compare notes....

I've got one of the last usa sold Gainward 6800gt apg in my system with no problems except for the 2 slot cooler. Looking for a new hsf for 1 slot so I can use in linux box. I order the bliss with 7900 core with 24 pipes for agp so when it comes in I am ready to overclock and bench also. (popcorn)

So what did that card cost you shipped to the states? With the current exhange rate it seems like that card is gonna cost you $550 or more.

Yiiikkkeees.

I was thinking of one, but I think a new motherboard and PCI-E card would be a better bet given that I can use my CPU and memory just fine.

Ya I took a big hit importing this card total cost was around 567 us dollars, but then my linux box has only agp in it so it will get this card after I move to socket am2 and pcix. With the full 24 pipes,512Megs ddr3 and 7900 core plus all the cards sold in usa are 16 pipes with 256megs really sold me on this plus I have had good times with Gainward, all though I wished MSI had the balls to sell something like this in the usa, plus it didn't hurt that bad since I used the money from taxman to cover cost. I was holding out for the dell 2407's and instead got the nec 20WMGX2BK.

Hey there!

Got an 7800GS+ as well, mine's running @ 550/1400 :D getting ~8800 3DM05-Points, don't have 3DM06...

But what driver are you using? Experienced Problems when changing from 3D back to 2D.. 84.21 at the moment...

Got mine running 500/1400 on the 84.30 and no problems :D ,I will try the new 87.08 and see what problems there are with the 7800gs+.

Could be problems of mine were related to unsufficient MB voltage... Changed driver to 84.56, same probs, then upped MB and AGP voltage (just for security ;) ) a little, seems to run... Perhaps my Board was a little surprised by work needed to fullfil the card's demands ;)

Nice card though, eh?

Read Bios with NiBiTor, worked, but cannot up the GPU voltage...

Memory is OK with 625 (NiBiTor commented "1250 DDR"), no Problems here I think, some people argued elsewhere...

And there are truly 24Pipes, I looked after it with Riva (nana2) ! Got a modded .cfg-File for Riva on the net (unfortunately don't remember where...), but Hardware monitoring still isn't working... Doesn't matter since I can read out the temp

BTW, do you have this VIVO-cable as well? I thought, it was only tv-out? Can't try this because of no vidcam or something like that...

edit: Probs were due to CPU--overheating/Vcore too low... now 1,45v + ArcticCooling-thermal-grease -> works perfectly :) :) :) !

Newest Bench @ 580/1500, 84.56:

9178 3DMark05-Points :) :) :)

Quick post for benchmarks.
Quake 4 :
Geforce 6800GT 2214 frames 39.7 seconds 55.8 fps
Geforce 7800GS+ 2214 frames 18.3 seconds 121.1fps

3Dmark6
Geforce 6800GT
Score 2186
sm test 846
hdr test 884
cpu test 930

Geforce 7800GS+

Score 3863
sm test 1752
hdr test 1749
coy test 928
Tryed out Coolbits2 first go at overclocking the core went from 450 core to 512 and the memory went from 625/1.2 to 755/1.5, but it failed when running 3dmarks on last test, looked like the memory needs to breakin before going at it again.

I've ordered mine now. I have the same spec system and I'm liking that upgrade...(nana2)

I moved onto the Gainward BLISS 7800GS from an ATI X800XT and have seen a very noticable improvement. It has performed faultlessly and whilst I haven't felt the need yet to overclock it to the max I have used Coolbits to up its clocks from 425/1200 to 460/1350 without any issues.
This is the first nVidia card I have had since a Geforce 4400 and I haven't been disappointed with the card or the drivers.

I bought the Gainward AGP Bliss 512 + (24pipe) card.

Would not work at all on MSI865GM-LS (integrated graphics chipset)
Would crash thru benchmarks.
Underclocked it, then it got 5,000 on 3DMark03.

Changed powersupply to 600 watt Coolermaster
Crashing system occured less often.

Then tried it an the ASRock Socket478 motherboard
It played FEAR and BF2 cranked no problems,
but would only benchmark to 7,000 with 3DMark03

...Then I got a hold of an MSI 865PE Neo2 motherboard
and hold on to your horses because this card really woke up.
Frickin amazing, blows away my 6600GT SLI system.
Benchmarks at 15,600 with 3Dmark03 (but I expected over 20,000)
Plays FEAR and BF2 max resolution at 1280 x 960 without any issues at all.
The 3Dmark03 benchmark does not reflect the true capability of this card because my 6600GT SLI system gets 14,800 but can not compete with the AGP Bliss in a real game such as FEAR or BF2.

So my point is, make sure you have a motherboard that does not have
an integrated graphics chipset in order to use this Gainward AGP 7800 GS Bliss 512 + Video Card.

Hope that helps anyone with 7800GS Bliss issues and incompatibilities.

not only making a new thread about your troubles but necroposting in a thread that died almost 7 months ago...

there's quite a few things i would say about that... but i don't want to type it all out so here's a dancing banana (nana2)
