is it safe to overclock a Connect3d x800 Gto?
im thinking of doing so, but i dont want it to end in tears
My buddy is running his Saphire x800gto AGP at 550MHz core and 550MHz memory.

x800's are good overclockers in general and their power converters seem to have quite some reserves. Never saw one dying from OC.
Actually this goes for all ATI cards i've owned.

You're most certainly welcome to try overclocking. If you want the most control, only bump the core and memory by 5 MHz at a time. Test thoroughly using 3DMark, rthdribl (Google it) and ATI Tool. Continue to bump until you see instability.
