Hi all,
I have this HDD ... http://www.westerndigital.com/en/products/Products.asp?DriveID=137
i have a couple of questions plz ...

1- y do i get 149GB instead of the advertised 156GB (usual question)
2- is this a SATA-II HDD or just a super speed SATA-I, and how can i make it work at high speed if it's SATA-II.

thanks.

EDIT: solved the second question http://wdc.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/wdc.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=248&p_created=1017429038&p_sid=L2uD4e6i&p_lva=1291&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPTEmcF9zb3J0X2J5PSZwX2dyaWRzb3J0PSZwX 3Jvd19jbnQ9MSZwX3Byb2RzPTIwMyZwX2NhdHM9MCZwX3B2PTE uMjAzJnBfY3Y9JnBfc2VhcmNoX3R5cGU9YW5zd2Vycy5zZWFyY 2hfZm5sJnBfcGFnZT0xJnBfc2VhcmNoX3RleHQ9MzAwbWIvcw* *&p_li=&p_topview=1 , remains the first.

I have that same hard drive and it only shows up as 149GB as well. Nothing to worry about.

It is 160gb it is just that HD makers lie in their calculations of the size and use 1000x1000x1000 for a GB not 1024x1024x1024 that should really be used (1024*1024*1024*149=159987531776).
