Yeah i was wondering that myself. Censorship is getting way out of hand IMO. You only have to look at that hot cofee mod in GTA and the reaction it got.
It is NOT censorship. It is simply taking adult content out of mainstream channels. It dosen't matter that you have to be 18+ to enter e3. The fact is, millions of kids UNDER 18 will read the coverage of e3.
Does Best Buy allow porno movies to be broadcasted over the showroom displays? No. Is that censorship? No. It's keeping adult content out of the mainstream.

That makes no sense whatsoever. Best Buy doesn't have minimum age requirement to get in like E3 does. E3 isn't mainstream anyways, it's meant for the press of the video game industry...and they have decency to uphold in their magazines when they decide what to report on.
Regardless, I don't see the damn point in censoring adult material to a gathering consisting soley of adults. Adult video games have been made for years, yet you don't see them being reported in your copy of GamePro every month, do you? It should be up to the magazines to decide what is decent or not for public reading consumption, not the trade show big wigs.
Besides, as being an adult myself, I don't see what the hell the big deal is about "Adult" video games... I've had plenty of "adult" encounters, and seeing it in a Video game isn't going to ruin my life or my morality at this point in my life. If you're over 18 and don't know what sex is or don't look at pornography on a regular basis, something is probably very wrong with you anyways. It's not like many of the adult games are that good either, and would probably be VASTLY overshadowed by XBOX 360 and the Playstation 3 ANYWAYS.
Either they should take off the ban on Adult game content at the show or allow minors entry to the expo, it's that simple.

Maybe they didnt allow it to be shown because it sucks ass and has no point other than to get attention...
How many games are at E3 that are cheap gimmick type games that look like they should be freeware? I've never been to E3 but I doubt they just let anyone who has a game set up a table and show it off because they have one dumb gimmick.
Has anyone even looked this game up? It looks retarded...

There isnt even a name for a publisher on the site, unless they are publishing it themselves (ie, a porn company). It also doesnt even have a page on Gamespot, one of the biggest gaming sites on the internet.
The only reason its even getting any publicity is because it has sex in it. Whoever made this decision probably judged it with their gaming sense rather than their penis.

maybe i missed something but since when did name calling and cussing someone out become violence? (ie: how is calling someone a "****ing fairy democrat" violent?)
because Zelda_fan has used that as an example of violence numerous times and it makes no sense at all....

Then if the show is for 18+'s only, then surely the responsibility lies with the journalists and what they show to all of the internet ? They dont have to flash pictures of the adult content that was shown in an 18+ only event ? Thats just dumb.
Does Best Buy allow porno movies to be broadcasted over the showroom displays? No. Is that censorship? No. It's keeping adult content out of the mainstream.
WE have adult films at normal height in our DVD shops... They wont be served to minors, but we dont stop the retail of it all together, cos thats stupid.

Same applies to violence no?, itīs not the same see Rambo killing vietcongs than take control virtually of him to kill vietcongs too, I think we are normal persons, not mentally screwed, we can distinguish between reality and games, raping a girl in a game doesnīt mean that I will do it with my girlfriend, probably she will cut my d**k and then kill me.
Sigh...
If you read the VERY first posts me and Zelda have made, we talk about how violent video games and sexual video games are different
You don't shoot up cops as often as you have sex
You won't be put into a situation where you are given a shotgun and told to steal cars and shoot cops. You will however eventually involve yourself with sexual intercourse. And when your hormones are running off the charts and all you know about sex is what you've done in video games, odds are you might be a little more rough. And for some people, it might end up being more than just "a little" more

You're joking right? That's by far the lamest excuse for censoring sexual content in video games I've heard yet... Besides, you'd be surpised how many women actually prefer it rough ;)
Regardless, common sense dictates sex is censored to minors simply because adults in society don't want their children having their own children before they're ready to raise a child, not because they're afraid their children are going to have rough sex... :rofl

I fail to see how adult oriented video games translate into higher cases of rape, and I besides, I seriously doubt these games revolve around RAPE in the first place (HAVING SEX WITH PROSTITUES IS NOT RAPE)... Most of the adult games I've heard about are either fantasy fufillers or dating sims with the proverbial cherry on top so to speak. And I also fail to see how playing adult oriented video games are going to brainwash a man's mind into thinking "no" means "yes"... Whenever I have encounters, there's only one brain functioning, and it sure as hell ain't the one in my head, but I don't consider rape an option, most normal people DON'T... Rapists have much more severe problems than watching pornography.

Because I have said that EVERY SINGLE PEROSN WHO PLAYS A PORNOGRAPHIC GAME WILL RAPE SOMEONE so many times, havn't I?
I'm just ganna stop posting in here if people aren't ganna read the entire thread. I've said time and time again that pornographic video games will influence SOME people, not all. It will influence those who havn't grown up with strong influences or the capacity to tell right from wrong. So for the 4 years before a kid has sex he's only taken control of a situation that ALWAYS ends up in sex and where he has complete control, he is going to be influenced. It's your choice to believe it or not. It's how I feel
And yes, rapists do have more severe problems than watching pornography. But I hate to break it to you, rapists don't randomly become rapists when they wake up in the morning. It is a ton of other factors. And I think giving kids the chance to get a hold of or hear about mainstream pornographic games, will increase sexual assualt even .00001% of the people who play them. And that's too many for me

I object to this statement :(
Yeah, I mean we have topless girls in national newspapers that anyone can buy too.. Just look at how America reacted at Janet Jacksons boob falling out.. If that were here, people would laugh it off and have moved on in like 5 minutes.. In America it was blown out of all proportion.
Amercia seems to be well hung up on anything sexual related. Like I say, its a screwed up world where we find blowing someones head off, more acceptable than a girl blowing a guy off ;)
I just dont think alot of people here will ever be able to agree though, because your society is soo fundamentally different, you cant help but think the way you are, even though you're wrong ;)
Nutty you need to come to America you haven't a clue to what the average American is. I think if you visited the US you would be surprised that Americans aren't any different than the rest of the world. You post like we are some group of idiots fumbling around in the dark. Have you ever wondered what you and your son's life would be if the US wasn't a world power?
Most of you are too young to remember what NYC was when Times Square was a red light district. I saw a special on it and where you have sex for sale or to look at it always brings out the unsavory elements in society. Maybe E3 wants it to be a learning experience and not a sex game peep show. Ever notice the Acadamy Awards doesn't give out awards for porn flicks? :p

kev, you know I agree with you, but you're wasting your breath. I've argued this a long time ago, and have come to the conclusion that people like surfhurley need to take their hands off their ****s long enough for them to think straight.

Dude, I'm sorry, but you and kev have the most utterly terrible arguments to defend your position...Sorry, but maybe I would agree with your side if either one of you had some compelling arguments, but unfortunately, it's not the case... Sex is censored in media because adults are worried children will have their own children too soon, not because they're worried about people becoming rapists, I mean come on, think rationally here...
And yes, rapists do have more severe problems than watching pornography. But I hate to break it to you, rapists don't randomly become rapists when they wake up in the morning. It is a ton of other factors.
Then WTF do video games have to do with it? Stop contradicting your own argument. I have yet to see a VALID response from either of you concerning the fact that E3 is an 18+ tradeshow...
Hello? At least 18 years old? It's kind of hard to raise an 18 year old child and teach an 18 year old child values, because an 18 year old isn't a freakin child any more!
Kev, you're makign all these points about pornography and children when pornography and children isn't legal anyways...So I don't really get what you're arguing? E3 isn't for children, E3 is for adults, who have already had their personalities form, morality formed, habits tendencies already learned from parents... If a person has it in them to be a rapist past 18 years of age, they're going to be a rapist regardless of whether they see some GD porno or not!
Both you and Zelda need to go back to the drawing board regarding your arguments, because like I said, neither one of you have made anything near a compelling argument for your case. I will ask:
Why should E3 be removed of ADULT material when everyone in attendance is an ADULT? It's like censoring a military training video to a soldier, it makes no sense. Please keep ridiculous "mainstream" comments out of this, as it is (AS ALWAYS) up to the decency and will of the journalists of their respective magazine to decide what is appropriate for content or not.

Because it's their show and they can do what they want. Having that game banned is a good way to maintain positive PR for the event, for both the general public and the other vendors who are going to be there.

You make a very valid point, and it makes sense, but E3 isn't open to the general public. But I suppose if a mother saw something like this on the news, she perhaps would consider this a move of the video game industry in the right direction and might be more willing to get her kid a video game system?

Maybe. The event receives a ton of coverage, and kids would be more likely to visit Web sites that may have given press to this particular game. However, I believe it's more likely that this move was done to keep the other vendors happy. If I were iD, Epic, NVIDIA, et al, I sure as heck wouldn't be happy if they allowed this in as it would reflect badly on the show and the industry in general.
Yes, it is guilt by association, but that's an unfortunate fact of life in this day.
