Looks like E3 won't be having any over the top "adult" games allowed. An "adult" MMO has been refused by E3...

I agree (in a way). I am fine with E3 not having the game there, but I also have no problem with the developers wanting to make this game. I'm not into the whole "online cybersex thing", but some people are and the developers have the right to cater to these people's wants. Personally, I don't care if it's at E3 or not. I wouldn't have stopped by thier booth anyway, as we already have way to much to cover in a short time. I'm sure thier game will sell well online and in pron shops, and they will probably use some pron convention to show it off, so I doubt that not being at E3 will really hurt them...

here is the thing. Games like that give the industry a bad name. It's bad enough we've got parents against video games, now with games like this we've got Hillary Clinton waving her big ass, and pretty soon we are gonna have laws passed restricting the content that developers can publish. If this comes to pass it will be a VERY BAD THING so I'm glad to see that the industry is regulating itself.
If they want to market the game as "adult entertainment" at a porn convention then fine, but they shouldn't be allowed to market it as a mainstream game.

I think thats what I was saying, in a convoluted, disjointed sort of way...lol
playing devils advocate, where then do you draw then line? What if they decide "M" games should not be displayed with mainstream games either?
I find it amusing, that brutal violence and killing people is more acceptable than a boob! lol

The reason "brutal violence and killing people" is accepted as opposed to sexual content, is becasue most people will have sex in thier lives while most people won't go on a brutal and violent killing spree. An incorrect interpitation of how a sexual relationship works is a lot more damaging that simulated violence.
As far as drawing the line - that's what the e3 leadership is for. There isn't a black and white line, but just trust the leadership to make correct judgment as to when a game has gone to far.

So because we have sex in our lives, we're not allowed it in games, and because we dont have violence in our everyday lives, we can have that..
What kind of ****ed up logic is that ?

I dont agree really. Pretty much all kids see porn at some time or another and end up normal. I dont think the same can be said for kids subjected to extreme violence.
I really dont get the ratings thing in the world. I can make a film blowing a womans head off with a gun and that gets an 18.. I make a porno and thats XXX, and no-ones allowed to see it..
Meh.. I'm off on a rant.. Its a screwed up world where we find killing each other more acceptable than sex.

I think they should be allowed to show it, however if rules are in-place content-wise then they cannot show the really 'adult' portions of the game. In the end it would be no worse than some kid walking into Victoria's Secret and taking one of their catalogs. There are laws pertaining to public decency, as long as they abide by those they should be fine.
If they want to show the 'adult' bits then they can do so in a private showing requiring identification, but not actually inside the E3 show itself.

I thought the same thing about that until I read it again
Sounds to me like he's saying if video games show us that violent sex and sex that demoralizes the woman or anything of that sort is OK, then we are much more likely to live it out in real life
Shooting and rampages on the other hand, will not occur in real life very often, and as such it will have less of an influence on our day to day lives

Well, actually you have to be 18 to be at E3...So I don't know if it matters if they show it privately or on the show floor....Media could simply choose not to cover it...But as I stated above, I don't really care either way...

Nope, I've never been to this country you speak of. My bad. I should have done my research before I spoke
In this magical land you speak of, do shooting rampages where you run around shooting hookers and killing cops happens more often than sex?

Consider this Nutty:
You play a video game where you blow someone away. 99.99% of the time you're never going to encounter a situation where you have the chance to blow someone away.
Now you play an adult oriented video game where you get to grab a woman by the hair and push her face down in your crotch for some oral sex. If you get enjoyment out of playing this type of game, imagine how you might behave the next time you are alone with a woman. You see my point?

If you do it, and she doesn't like it, she'll tell you. And if you do it again, HER MOUTH IS ON YOUR CROTCH.
Who's REALLY in control in that situation?

Ya, because a woman who's violently being shoved onto a guys crotch is ganna bite. You know, just to piss off the already violent guy. That's a great idea on her part. So when in a violent rage he rapes her or kills her, at least she can know "I was in control of the situation"

Do you really think that a video game is going to be what pushes a guy over into being violent with women? You think that's the first time the thought would have entered his mind? "Wow, this video game is showing me that women AREN'T people...I should totally go and abuse them."
Yeah, I doubt it.

Yeah, a woman's gonna bite when she's in a bent over position with your hand on the back of her head.
Jesus Christ you people act like you've never been with a woman before... And considering the fact that sexual oriented games have so much support within the community it's no wonder that gamers have the sterotype of a bunch of nerds who can't get laid.

Yeah, I doubt it.
I guess I have to ask the question of WHY you would be playing that game to begin with if you didn't enjoy seeing the behavior?

So wait, lets get this straight
There are people out there who claim that video games are what caused them to go out and shoot people, ruining their lives and KILLING other people
And yet you find it hard to believe a video game about abusing woman sexually won't push a person to be more rough when they have hormones flying high as hell through their bodies in the heat of the moment? It's not going to "push a person over into being volient". It's ganna slowly cause being violent to be a socially acceptable thing

kev,
People lie to themselves so that they feel good about their own behavior. "Nahhh, Alcohol dosen't affect my decision making skills" - GLUG GLUG GLUG! "Nahhh, porn dosen't affect my outlook on women" - yeah b4by, give it 2 me like on the pr0n vide000!!!!
I will straight up admit that video games have made me a more violent person. However, I do not forsee any situation where I'll have a rocket launcher and be fighting a horde of demons, so when it's all said an done, no big deal. With sex, it's a very different story. THAT is why there is such a push against sex in video games these days.

I get tons of enjoyment out of trading wood for gems or other more useful materials in Heroes Of Might and Magic...
Wait a minute! I have tons of wood in my garage... I know I'll go trade that for some crystal and gems and gold at the jewelery store.
What you're asking for is censoring of content to control people's behaviour. When what society should be doing is teaching people how to behave properly. If someone gets violent in a sexual situation it's not because of a video game it's because of them not any other reason. Nobody controls your own actions except for yourself and people need to take responsibility for that.

If people are so ****ing stupid that they can't figure out how to act by seeing how other REAL people behave in REAL LIFE, then I have no sympathy for them. Never, under any circumstance should a VIDEO GAME be blamed for how people behave in real life. I don't care what statistics show or what people say: it's called COMMON ****ING SENSE.
I've played violent countless hours of video games and watched countless hours of porn and never once have I killed anyone (or even gotten into more than a shoving spat) nor have I ever sexually assaulted a woman. And I can say the same for a vast majority of my guy friends.
Stop blaming video games and porn for the reason people act so retarded and stop letting them blame those same thigns as the reason they can't act correctly in public or in private. The only parties are fault are their parents for not beating some sense into them and showing them how REAL people act.
Ah, but I keep forgetting...it's so much easier to blame someone/something else for your own downfalls and faults. Not taking responsibility ftw!

I'm not asking for censorship. I believe developers have a right to make whatever games they want. However I do think sexually oriented games should not be advertised in the mainstream. ie they shouldn't be put on Best Buy shelves for kiddies to pick up.
I've played violent countless hours of video games and watched countless hours of porn
Thus confirming my theory of denial. You would never admit to being effected by these things becasue that would mean what you are doing is wrong. However from your posts it is pretty easy to see that you ARE in fact effected by these things. Examples:
If people are so ****ing stupid that they can't figure out how to act by seeing how other REAL people behave in REAL LIFE, then I have no sympathy for them. ^^^^ Clearly you show signs of violent tendencies caused by video games.
And what if she likes that?
If you do it, and she doesn't like it, she'll tell you.
^^^^^ Clearly, your countless hours of watching porn has desensitized you to a woman's emotional state.
You should calm down. The more irate you get the more you prove my point.
