The 7900 GT Signature Series™ features EVGA's own high-efficiency thermal cooling solution allowing the highest possible clock speeds. The memory is now covered by the innovative EVGA copper fan, which allows for better cooling (approximately 6 degrees Celsius). Very nice, so its a cherry picked KO. Nevertheless, the whole "special treatment" is a nice touch to it all. Looks like eVGA is ahead of the game again. A black PCB for these cards would have sealed the deal, but meh.

... that said, I'm going to be freakin' pissed if they don't allow step-ups as well for 7900 GTX Superclocked people to 7900 GTX Signature Series cards if they do come out soon.

Step-Up™ Note: The Signature Series™ product line is limited in quantities and will not be made available as a Step-Up™ option for those users who do not have a Signature Series™ product. Customers who purchase our Signature Series™ line of product will be able to Step-Up™ to any EVGA product listed on our website.

Well that sucks....I was all prepped to send my GT SC in. =v(

Very nice :) Since the 7900GTX and 7900GT are essentially the same GPU the only difference is the core clock speed. I bet you could even overclock this model to a 650. ;)

The GT SC I have ain't going nowhere except in my case where it has found a home (til the next series or maybe I will just find it a companion.) :D

BTW, it will clock easily to 630 with the aftermarket cooler I have installed. I currently have it clocked at 572/1.7 for Oblivion and temps stay <45C max. with an idle temp of 34C.

Yeah, this is a nice card. I'd buy it if I had the money, just to have it. I do wonder if it could hit the 650 mark without the vmod, I assume so. The only thing that pisses me off at eVGA is changing their damn cooling solution when it seems it would have been obvious not to leave the memory uncovered! *shakes head* Still, I like the looks of the box and card on this deal.

Copper HSF..hmm...were reference coolers for GTS ALU or Cu? anyone know? Man I want two of these to replace my 7800 GTXs

The GT CO SC I have was copper.

Ah...I was under the impression them stock reference coolers for the non overclocked versions are Alu.

I believe all of the Nvidia Reference 7900 GT's had alu Heatsinks, I may be wrong, but in any case, EVGA certainly has a nice card here in the 7900 GT KO Signature Series.

BTW did anybody notice this:

Step-Up™ Note: The Signature Series™ product line is limited in quantities and will not be made available as a Step-Up™ option for those users who do not have a Signature Series™ product. Customers who purchase our Signature Series™ line of product will be able to Step-Up™ to any EVGA product listed on our website.

I believe if You read between the lines that it is saying that other EVGA KO Signature Series Cards are going to be available in the future. :D But no one tells me anything. ;)

Cool I am saving up for a new card as this 6200 has to be pensioned off. Shame EVGA are very expensive in the UK though.

My MSI 7900GT @ 450/1320 has a copper heatsink and AFAIK, all 7900GTs have reference copper coolers.

Me too.

As for those "features" listed above, wow, that makes it all worth it for sure.

400 USD is too pricey IMO. An X1900XT at 440 USD is a better deal, if I am going to spend around the 400 mark.

u should know tht this card will have almost the same performance of x1900xt..as its near the GTX speeds.

Yeah I would have jumped on this had it been available through the step up program too.

Yeah and a black pcb would have really been a nice touch.

I seriously don't want to turn this into an ATi vs. nVidia thread, but yeah it will be as fast as an X1900XT and lack the 512 MB memory, HDR + AA, HQ AF and so on..

Don't forget the noise. The 7900GT won't be as loud as the X1900XTX either.

And its a dual slot design. This would be a perfect card for shuttles :)

Take a look at these 3DMark06 Scores.

http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y221/SaberSix/EVGA-Chart-7900GTSignatureSeries.jpg

See the difference between the Signature Series 79 GT KO and the score of the Nvidia Reference 79 GT as well as the EVGA 79 GT CO and EVGA 79 GT CO Superclock cards. Pretty Cool.

BTW the Noob in the Pic is Mike at EVGA.
