Looks like Stalker will be at E3 after all -
http://ve3dboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=23818849
Although not mentioned earlier in THQ's E3 lineup press release, GSC Game World's official homepage reveals that the oft-delayed first-person shooter S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl will be at E3:
After a year's break S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl, published worldwide by THQ (but for the territory of ex-USSR), is to be demonstrated at E3. The press-only presentation featuring a live singleplayer demo will be held at THQ booth (South Hall booth #1324). S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is a Survival FPS set in the near-future Chernobyl exclusion zone. The player, as a stalker, is to go through 30 sq.-km area of the Zone exploring it, learning about its dangers and inhabitants, surviving deadly anomalies, radiation, collecting valuable artefacts, but ultimately solving the mystery behind the Zone: what caused it to existence, what's controlling it etc. The opponents will include mutated animals, weird creatures, rival stalkers, the military and more. The complete freedom of actions coupled with A-life system implemented in the game will provide for unique experience for every player and the unlimited replay-ability. Building up relations with NPCs, playing different roles in the game, making friends and foes, collecting information will all impact the ending that the player comes to in the game.S.T.A.L.K.E.R. was awarded 'Most Wanted Game of 2006' (Gameland Award) in ex-USSR and has been a highly anticipated title worldwide.
GSC will also be displaying Heroes of Annihilated Empires at CDV's booth.

Hopefully they can really make this game shine by the time its released... I played 2 of the leaked alphas and it deffinitely had potential then.
I hope they release a demo before release, I still want to try it, despite all the delays.

I still think it'll kick ass when it releases, same for DNF.
When was the last piece of media that we received?

GSC release a calander each month, so I suppose you could call that 'official' media. Since E3 2005 trailer there has been the Gameland Award footage from Feb this year, its shaky-cam though. I find this site to be the best for latest STALKER news -

Cool, I dont think Ive seen those before.
It looks good but they better hurry their asses up... its already looking dated. Not bad by any means, but things are starting to look amazing these days, they really need to get this out before its graphics are totaly blown away by Crysis, UT2007 and Quake Wars.
thanks for the pic's it looks like the spiffed up the guns a lill they don't look so flat.

Ok, I did look at them again and it does look great... but I dont know... it doesnt have that wow factor of all the games that are coming out this year, and last I heard STALKER was possibly pushed to 2007 (this was months ago though, so who knows).
I guess I take it back that it looks dated... but they still better get it out as soon as its "done" rather than screw around any longer than they have to. When everyone is drooling over HDR, pixel shaded everything, paralax mapping and blah blah blah, its going to lose a lot of its thunder because it doesnt use much of that. It seems to have nice shadows and nice textures and thats about it. Which means it should run pretty good, but all the graphics wh*res are going to go "eh" if this comes out after all of the other next-gen games.
YES SIR!!!! (salute)
Thats SIR YES SIR! :)
Thats SIR YES SIR! :)
You heard the man!
Get to it!
w00t, I gave up on this game I cant wait (nana2)

I have started the process by emailing both THQ and GSC Game World...Dunno if it will do any good. If that doesn't work, we may be able to get in Friday once most of the press has already been through... (make sure you get Friday off Jakup!!!)
