Half Life 3 Premiering at E3

Half-Life 3? At E3? At first, we were in disbelief, but we have confirmed reports from an anonymous source at Valve that Half-Life 3 WILL be unveiled at E3, reportedly there will be a teaser with a short sample of gameplay. Read on to learn more...

Valve is gonna be at E3 and is supposed to make a huge announcement about developing for xbox 360. This would be.... awesome.

I wonder why they are anouncing it so soon. It couldnt possibly come out within the next year. I guess if its been in developement this whole time thatd explain why everything else Valve has been doing has taken so long :o

Well if HL2 took 5+ years to make (was being developed in secrecy for awhile) then no dout HL3 was the same. I mean they probably had it planned to be a trilogy or more from the start...

It is worth noting that around the time of HL2's release, Newell said that they don't want to take another 5 years to make HL3. Making Source and HL2 was too time consuming and he said the next Half Life will be out sooner.

Wow, I wonder when this is going to come out...

If it comes out by next summer... holy s**t... I think Im going to have to continue to have no life for another year or two. There are just too many kick ass games coming out to waste time not playing them :D

I thought I remembered reading that in one of the latest PCGs that talked about how there was no more Aftermath, but rather these four episodes, that Gabe said something about, depending on how these were received, the future of the HL universe was going to be episode-based.

I can imagine 4 episodes between the major titles now... that would be a great way to keep people interested and playing the games. Can ya imagine 4+ HL titles a year! :D

Yup, Gabey said that they want a quicker release for HL3... its almost been 2 years since HL2.

as long as they sort the gay "fart in a wind tunnel" guns sounds out then its all good - as it stands HL2 weapon sounds are almost embarrasing to listen too.

Hm, I still think it will take a while, but there is no rule that they have to make a new engine for hl3, they can modify the source a bit for people wiht high end rigs, eg bigger shaders, textures, more geometry.

If fakefactory's cinematic mod (http://halflife2.filefront.com/file/FakeFactory_Oggs_Cinematic_Mod;58868) for HL2 is anything to go by, a tweaked source engine has quite som life left in it. :)

Not surprising, there was that mention of Half-Life 3 a while ago back on the 360 slides from spain or whatever.
