Nice! Looks great but I wish some sort of action took place, even if it wasn't gameplay... I hate trailers that just have someone staring at something...

and the release date is total BS... we all know Bungie is as bad with release dates as Valve is...

It would be a mistake to miss the 7/7/07 opportunity. I mean come on.

Meh, nothing special. I think the Halo 2 trailer back in the day was nicer actually

Mmmmmmm, me likey. I like it when things get epic. Looked phenominal, but I was a little disappointed that there was no action. Still looked graphically great though. Bungie claims it's real-time (took press behind closed doors and gave a demonstration of the engine) and it will look better come release. I'm also glad to see the return of the Assault Rifle. Run and gun action at its very finest.

Try better looking than almost anything on the market right now. Dare I say better than U3? I'd give it very comparable at least.

Here's some HD shots of H3, god damn amazing.

While it looks great I hope they don't push the system farther then they should right away. Halo 2 looked great when originally shown off but we all know how different it looked aswell as all the technical problems that arose.

I personally would have liked a trailer with more content... Master Chief looks amazing but Im going to wait and see on the game.

Didn't Bill Gates himself let it slip that Halo 3 will launch almost day and date with PS3? That will steal some thunder, and Halo 3 + Xbox360 bundles for cheaper than a no games low end PS3 will really be a kick in the jewels for Sony.

Yes, but Bungie quickly corrected him, saying he had no authority to say when and how it was released, and that it was entirely not official. And it was a bit more than a slip, he said it in Time magazine. :p

It's gonna be released some time 2007, we know that much. Probably with the movie.

Considering that the PS3 launches this year and the trailer clearly stated 2007... I don't think thats the case... just wishful dreaming by Bill Gates.

Next year we do get both Halo 3 and Metal Gear Solid 4 though... both consoles have a killer app!

If they can do Halo 3...WITHOUT the cliffhanger...then it's going to pwn my brain and I'd give my testicles to play it 5 minutes before official launch.

Satan, please take my soul, so that I can have Halo3 (with no cliffhanger).

I'd have gladly turned in my soul for Halo2 if it didn't have the cliffhanger.

Actually, seriously, after reviewing the HD version of the trailer...

I gotta say...

Bungie has a VERY well known of blowing the doors off of everything everyone else is doing when their games ship. Graphically they pulled it off with Halo2 and made a fantastic looking game that turned heads. Halo of course, was, well Halo...plain and simple in that no one else touched it.

The detail on Chief, and how well the environment renders... yeah I'm sucked in and all fanboi. Bungie won't let us down. Bastards, and their damn teasers though...

Halo3 is going to be a huge release, bigger than Halo2. Hollywood will be green with envy.

The HQ files are widescreen but not really high definition. 1280x544 isn't even 720p.

Actaully, Hollywood will probably be green with money as well, since my guess is they are going to release Halo 3 and the Halo movie around the same time. :D

Why people are so excited by a guy dressed in that ugly space suit is beyond me. The past games themselves have been nothing earth-shattering either.

Halo is just the typical game that ouside its protected environment would do quite bad and be forgotten very soon.

What makes Halo so popular nowadays is the first games amazing story line and the second games great multiplayer. A good part of the ongoing success of the series has to be attributed to Xbox Live. Great lobby options, seemless multiplayer gameplay and in game VOIP are the vital ingredients needed to make a game like Halo a number one best seller.

How does Halo have such a great story line?
I lot of gamers enjoyed the first Halo's story line. If you don't own an Xbox try the PC version and see for yourself. Granted each gamer will have his or her own personal opinion on weither or not they enjoyed the story line but at the time of release the original Halo got very good reviews from the top game sites (IGN, Gamepot etc.)
