THIS (http://www.expressen.nu/html/bildarkiv/Saburido.htm) IS WHAT HAPPENS TO ONE OF YOUR VICTIMS WHEN THEY ACTUALLY LIVE.

I just saw this for the first time ever, what can I say? I actually brought tears to my eyes http://www.johnajohn.netfirms.com/smileys/sad3.gif

This young woman was cut down in her prime LOOK AT HER! She is barely alive, all her hopes and wishes, dashed to peices and down the drain http://www.johnajohn.netfirms.com/smileys/dissappointed.gif She will never ammount to her previous vision or goals, she will be lucky if she ever finds a partner or has children. She is condemned to this FOR THE REST OF HER LIFE!

She never deserved anything like this, yet, the ****ER who inflicted this upon her and killed TWO others just got a seven year sentence and a $20k fine. What the hell is wrong with these types of people! This damn idiot doesn't even deserve to live!

How hard is it to ask for a damn ride? Or freakin' walk or call a cab? damn, look what this idiot did!

Gosh, this pisses me off alot, even more so that this guy got away with his crime, and that he is still ALIVE! I'll tell you this, if anything like this, EVER happens to anyone that I care about or know, or even to myself, I will make it my sole purpose for breathing and sustaining my life to end the existence of whoever is at fault. I don't even care if it would be a relative, if you do anything like this, YOU ARE DEAD TO ME. Period.

All drunk drivers make me sick to my stomach, hell, I don't think they should have the opportunity to ever be able to do something like this ever, there is no excuse. Forget the breathalizer, just shoot em' http://www.johnajohn.netfirms.com/smileys/sick.gif

I found something that is very shocking, also it is becoming more common due to the usage in recent wars. I sent to bu, I don't know if he saw them.

It's about babies born (most dead) with anormalities due to their parents exposure to depleted uranium bullets that were used in bosnian war and irqi war, by US an UN. It's terrible... There is the photos, but I think it's more convenient to read the manifesto:

Wow, hard images they're. It's a pity someone has to pay for another's fault, but this seems to be hardcoded for us, humans.

Very sad. There was someone I knew in high school who was drunk and ran his car into a father and his baby. The father died and his kid lived, and all he had to do for punishment was write a letter of apology and perform community service.

I think that drunk drivers are a global problem.
They also kill and hurt a lot of ppl here in Taiwan.
I just hope that they could get a very heavy punishment,
however the court always doesn't give them a heavy sentence.
This is really ridiculous and unacceptable.

Icky! I also really wish I didn't click on that...

It's that type of thing which even makes you think sometimes that beer shouldn't be legal in any case...
Problem is, that wouldn't fix anything. If it was dealt as drugs, the most addicted could always find some, and those are the same ones which do such accidents. :(

I am sad for all of them, poor girl whose is living that hell, the guy who did it and will live with what he, and the people who know each of them. It will be very hard to make any good come from this and i hope that good does come of it. My heart is breaking from this and the burning of the shuttle columbia....  :afraid: :(

Oh man, it sickens me that the bashtard didn't got but a slap on the wrist. I don't give a crap how bad he feels about it, I can assure you that she feels worse.

I probably seem insensitive but would like to make a few points.

First, please warn people before linking to content like that.

Secondly, the girl has had major surgery since then to reconstruct her face. She will never look like she did, but she no doubt looks better now than that early picture.

Lastly, alcohol did not cause this. A car accident did. You can't blame alcohol for it. I object to political messages that try to shock you with pictures like this. Its just like that anti-drug poster with the guy who got wacked on PCP and fed his face to his dog.

Alcohol can be a contributing cause to a car accident, but so are many things. A 20 year old who is legally DUI still has better reaction time than a 70 year old driver who is sober, or a sleepy driver after working a hard 16 hour day, or a woman talking on her cell phone while eatings a macdonalds meal. Yet we never horrible pictures that result from those accidents.

It's not that I don't feel sorry for the girl. Its sad that accidents like this happen. But we all make mistakes every day that could put others in danger... If you take your eyes off the road for a second to switch on your radio and some kid runs out into the road you could hit them... so then what? would you be angry at car radios? .... sometimes life just sucks.

umm... WHAT THE HELL?! Alcohol did not cause this? WTF? Are you thinking straight Dave? The guy was drunk when he rammed his car into the vehicle this young woman was in. You are blaming the accident for what happened? HUH?! The accident is what was caused by this IDIOT'S drunk driving, this young woman, in her miserable state is the PRODUCT. Don't try to blame her for this, she had no say, had no choice, and the very fact that she continues living, and is making a difference makes her one of the most courageous people that I have EVER had the privelige of knowing about.

If the guy was not drunk, and if he was not a complete idiot, this would have never happened. This criminal act would have never happened. You know, and I know it. Don't try alleviate this criminal's responsibilities and shift the blame to something else, that did not make this critical decision to drink and drive.

EDIT: Give all the statistics you want, did this drunken idiot have better reaction than a 70 year old? NO! He ruined this girl's life and he is a free man now, he can do whatever he wants, this girl's life is over :o

If he has any good part in his mind left, he is fealing like he's in hell. You don't sound like you have a lot of empathy,or am i wrong? I happen to care a lot about both of them as well as everyone else or i wouldn't get out of bed or obey the law. The country i live in was founded on the love of my fellow man and i like that, but if you disagree i feel for you.:(

Shinri Hikari, you are correct. I do not feel sorry for this man, I still love him however, I love him as much as I could love any of you. That will never change. You guys may think this is just something that I say, but beleive me, I try very hard every day to live this.

He did not care about anyone other than himself, and his pleasure. He did not value human life, he did not have love for his fellow man. Look where that led him. It is his choice, he will face the consequences for his actions, whatever they may be. Sadly, this young woman did not have the chance to take part in this decision, she will never be able to live her life the way she wanted to. This man has attempted to take this girl's freedom away, now it is up to her to deny him this pleasure.

You are great Shinri Hikari, you have made me think. I thank you, nothing that anyone can do will make me not love any of you. I may not like someone like this anymore, heck, I may even say I hate them, but, following what you have said Shinri Hikari, if my love for this man is affected by his actions, then I have lost, and I am no better than he is. I apologize.

I believe his (DaveW) point is that there are many reasons that can cause a car accident. For this particular girl's case, the use of alcohol was the #1 contributor. However, in other cases, that is not true.

I drive every day since 1988. I have not personally seen any accident where alcohol was the #1 reason. Instead, I've seen accidents, including death, where bad weather was the primary cause.

There were also "close-calls" that never led to a real accident. Stupid senior citizens who have no business on the road annoys me to no end. As a group, there are the #1 abuser of the cruise control. With CC, they no longer pay as much attention to the road as they should be, which makes their already slow reaction time worse.

And some people actually love to drive considerably below speed limit forcing everyone behind them to drive around. They are particularly annoying if they are in the middle lane of a 3 lane highway. Switching lanes increases the likelihood of accidents. So these morons are actually increasing the possibility of others around them to get into an accident.

However, not all accidents are "equal". The girl's case was preventable. If boy wasn't drinking too much, she would not have been in that condition.

The stupid senior citizen with cruise control is also preventable--simply take away their license and their car.

[eNv]-LORD-eX-Bu, apology accepted, i see you got my point, simple and sweet, i have no intent on arguing the cause of the current events since driving drunk isn't right in the first place. It is irresponsible and wrong in the first place. How much i care about someone is not really dependant on what they do, although i don't wish to see anyone hurt or killed, i still deeply care about them.

The best female friend of my mother was murdered by her husband about 10 years ago with 6 close shots of a .38 revolver. He was in jail for just 2 years.Right after that he came back to his work. He is a physician, and he normaly works at a hospital.

He has a daughter with her. She never new that his father murdered her mother. In fact he lives and raise her. She is 16 now.

Do you now why this happened ?

Just because he has a graduate diploma.

Let me tell you something, pal: My parents are among those senior citizens you despise so much and my father was one of the many that build I-75 many decades ago. He regularly has to get into his car and stroll on over to the nearest CVS to get those 3000% markup generic perscription pills that try to keep his motor going and also help regulate the sugar diabetes he contracted as a result of the steroid regimen he was on after quintuple bypass surgery.

Basically, what I'm trying to tell you is that he and his $200, mid-70s, landbarge of a Cadillac has as much right on any road in America as the next fully-loaded, 5-figure, peice of *****, Mustang 5.0 driven by the typical pimpled, 120 pound, snot-nosed, "I'm so cool I wear my pants around my knees and my Bone Thugs-baseball-cap backwards", teenage, jockstrap-for-brains, honky that just looooooooves to trundle passed my house having his kicker box in the trunk working overtime in an effort to deafen his own ears further for the sake of " impressin da ladiez"... and break my $&@*!ing living room windows!!!!

Speaking of which, one of those little twits was brave enough to use the old man's drive way to turn around, which isn't usually a problem - my family doesn't mind things like that - unless it's 1:30 AM and that bass is blaring. Oh, that puts the old geezer in rare form!

"Hiya, Pops! Nice guitar! We Just turnin' around, dude!"

"Hold it a second..."

"No, man! We late for a party, mist---OW!!! WTF?!?!?!"

"Party is right here, Sh--head!! If you or any of your boyfriends ever decide to boom-boom-biddly-boom in my drive at 2AM again, I will drag your narrow ass out of that car through the keyhole...*shakes guitar*...and tune your colon. Got it?!?"

My dad and I have had a love/hate relationship but, on the occassion, I didn't blame him one bit. In fact, I never laughed harder in my life. :D
