View Full Version : E3 2006 Day 1
Throughout the entire event, we were constantly on the lookout for Conroe... and we found it! In a small Intel booth upstairs, we found 4 Conroe systems, one of them being a Quad SLI system! They would not tell us what chipset was being used, although I can say it was a dell machine.. Most of the other systems with Crossfire machines on a 975X board.
could this be the allusive "Tritium" we have been hearing about?...
Nope...The guy wouldnt say much, but he did say that there are "behind the scenes" things that are holding off an AMD chipset. He said they want Nvidia to do it, but wouldnt elaborate, nor go on camera saying the above. The cores were running very cool (37 celcius I think). He said under his breath "an overclockers dream". They were all the 2.66's set up with both ATI cards and Nvidia Cards. I'll try and grab some video today of them...just remember, if you guys happen apon wil wheaton, stab him in the face for me...mmmk :D

Overclockers dream... mhhhh that sounds soooo good!
But with the chipset. You wrote AMD chipset... for an Intel Rig? Did you mean nVidia Chipset? I'm a little confused now^^

Great Work Jakup, Nrdstrm, cograts to both of You. Can I request that You get some pics of the EVGA Booth, I have a running bet that JDarwin looks like Clark Kent with a Pocket Protector, you know the Type, a Bean Counter/Engineering Geek. LOL Anyways, see if You can get some shots of him and Auswak(WShelley) and anybody else from EVGA.
