These must be the best I've every had for my PNY 7900 GTX OC. The IQ is excellent and performance seems to be up!

These drivers also add the following new options to the advanced section:

Threaded Optimization

OpenGL error reporting

Noticed a new entry in Screen Resolutions (could possibly been there previously):

Show standard HDTV formats

Also seems the Advanced Timing section may have changed under Screen Resolutions. (not sure since I use PowerStrip)

Also available for download at http://www.Guru3d.com

http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1394

BTW -- I just used what was in the download and it recognized my card w/o adding any additional inf's. Not sure if one was added.

Enjoy,

Yes it appears hilbert at guru3d has already provided a modded inf to support most cards. the whql stamp will be invalidated for actual quad cards however.

edit - And by the looks of it, drivers from guru3d don't support the 7900 gx2 (the actual card these drivers were made to support).

Worx good on GRAW{Damn i'm addictedto this ga****. Haven't tried them on Oblivion yet. Might end up going back to 84.66's because I think these are mor for SLI setups. I thought "Threaded Optimazation" meant support for dual cores??? Oh well feel like a bone head now....

They are older but the Version is higher so what is better.

DriverVer = 04/28/2006, 8.4.6.6
DriverVer = 03/17/2006, 8.7.0.8

Used both like the 87.08's better, much smother great I.Q.and the mouse doesn't have lead in it now.Give em a whirl, you might like them too.I only have a FX5200 but still the best ones in games yet.:D

This Driver have no FEAR Optimizations i think is too old.

I used card strings from FW84.43 so i am now able to use FW87.06.
Haven't tried any games though (i'm using 6600GT).

These are really good drivers for GRAW, hey ive noticed they added a little SLI symbol to the load balancing bar which i havent seen before. I also enabled threaded optimisation the first time i loaded up GRAW, im sure it feels smoother, but i havent tried it without so what do i know! What does it do anyway?

I belive Threaded Optimization is meant to optimize drivers for DualCore CPU's.
You have it (X2 4400+), yet i can't seem to find this setting (AXP 3200+). So i've come to a conclusion that this is it.

ooh in that case, i dont think it will help much in Graw because it doesnt utilise dual core. But in games like Oblivion it should help if what you are saying is true.. Ill have to do come benchmarks.
Is it not something to do with SLI 4x?

No. This driver optimization works regardless of game as far as i know.
It just enables to utilizy both cores for graphics subsystem.

So, is it worth upgrading from 84.66 besides for GRAW?

Hard to say, but if you have dual core CPU, than i'd give them a try.
This threading thingie is suppose to give performance boost of around 20 to 30 %.

how do i get the setting for dual core? are they in that new control panel or something...where is that localted at?

If you have single core i belive you won't find it. At least i can't and i have single core CPU.

Like Rejzor said, its optmizations to allow the driver to use both cores.
They have been in there for a while a think, but to toggle them you had to use a reg key.
I benchmarked a good 20fps increase in Q4, but that was at 640x480, once up to 1280x1024 that CPU gain is entirely removed by GPU bottlenecking.
But it will help a little in CPU bottlenecked situations on a Dual Core, perhaps even more so if the game doesnt support and is currently using both cores.

Which reg key and where is it located???

The 84.66s caused a lot of problems with my system (BSODs) but these seem to be working well and fix the issue with Sin Emergence when exiting the game. Keepers so far.

Which reg key and where is it located???
If you refer to the multithreading stuff, I googled up this link.. seems familiar..

Dunno if its the same on newer versions tho..

Anyone noted that there is no WMV-HD acceleration with this version?
