the sixth race of the season, the Spanish Grand Prix! :D

sorry i missed the Euro GP, but i had issues with my psu, vid card, etc, but all is better now. :) all seems to better for Ferrari as well, as Schumie won his second race in a row and Massa was third. the only problem with last week's race from the prancing horse's perspective is that Alonso finished second, so Schumie only gained 2 points in his quest to regain the title.

Alosno has never won in Spain, and he hopes to change that this weekend, but he will have to deal with a renewed Ferrari, as well as the likes of Wurz (Williams) and Klien (RBR). the McLarens were well back, but this is only Friday practice, and cars did limited laps.

Ide has been booted out of F1. he was a slow driver in a slow car and a danger to the rest of the drivers. he needs to gain more experience in an F1 car, perhaps as a test driver: http://www.tsn.ca/auto_racing/news_story.asp?id=165429

JV has been penalized 10 spots since his egineers had to examine the engine for problems, after it was "dropped" (or, Heidfeld was pissed that he was outclassed by a guy supposedly on his way out of F1 so he took a hammer to JV's engine. ;)). stupid rule: http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=35865

JV should never have been penalized for "blocking" Fisichella. it's Fisi's fault that he waited so long to set a fast lap: http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=35844

Button is still looking for his first victory. don't bet on him for this weekend. last year, he was DQ'ed in san Marino and had his finish in Spain wiped out as well: http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=35870

BigC, see if you can dig something up about this.

Was watching practice, on SPEED, and Steve Matchett said something.

"Well, Montoya isnt so fast today, I wonder where he'll end up next year?"

WHOA, does he know something about JPM leaving? I thought it was Kimi!

JPM has been rumoured to be moving to Red Bull and also Renault, but if Kimi goes there, don't expect JPM to be his team mate.

Alonso was frightening fast! Well both Renaults were really quick!

So Renaults on front row, Ferrari 2nd row. Nice race ahead. ;)

Hot Damn, over 30 million dollars a year for driving around a track as fast as you can. Sheesh!!! Who would've thought capitalism could get get this bad.

Alonso is the first Spainard to win the Spanish GP. good job for him. the race was really boring, but i suspect Renault/Alonso fans enjoyed it. Schumacher got second, Fisichella was third, and Massa was fourth. Kimi got fifth, followed by both Hondas (the best driver in F1 to never win a race still has not won a race), and Heidfeld finished in eighth. JV, starting last, ended 12th.

i watched the GP2 race on Speed before the main event and was highly entertained--the main event ... not so much.

Let's talk about soccer players, shall we ? We have some players here that get more than 30 M euro a year... Bah.

Please tell me which football players you think earn 30 million euros a year.

Ok, not really 30, but ...

David Beckham (Real Madrid) 25 M (ok, sponsors included)
Ronaldo (Real Madrid) 19.6 M
Zidane (Real Madrid) 13 M
Totti (Rome) 10.9 M
Del Piero (Juventus) 9.5 M

Given that they don't even risk their lives, I'd say they're seriously overpayed.

Btw, American Football isn't so much less rewarding ... Peyton Manning (Indianapolis Colts) earned about $42 M in 2004 ... At least they risk a little more that soccer players...

Major League Baseball players aren't so much behind...
