Hey guys, just curious if you guys know of the myriad of new 24 inch LCD monitors that are coming out this year. I hear Samsung has a successor (245T) as does Dell. Any other products I should keep my eyes peeled for. Thanks for any info. I am a gamer so it has to have a fast response time. Thanks.

Dell's 24 incher was suppose to be out months ago, however it is having alot of problems and quite frankly sucks, so don't expect it to be out and in good working condition for a while. ;)
Yup, Samsung has a new panel that is supposed to resolve tons of issues.
The recently released 2407, honostly, blows as of now. Dell claims that the U.S. shipping units will have fixes.

Thanks guys. I think I will wait for the Samsung monitor. Anyone ever heard about the Planar LCD monitors BTW? They sound real nice and have a decent price for their high end 23 incher. Cheers guys. Retsam, I think he means the 245T, but if jAkUp knows differently please inform us.
Yup, the 245T... I have been eyeballing that one too. I really want a WS LCD bad. I'm pretty dissapointed in all the problems with the 2407.

How much are these displays? If you guys can afford something bigger it's worth it IMO.
When there are samples here, I'll give em a twirl and see what I can post about backlights and all that jazz.
Seems unlikely since I have mainly seen opti's and precisions lately and the 3007's but I am looking forward to seeing at the 2407's :D
Was playing with the new XPS last week, lovely chassis. The front is plastic but the chassis itself weighs a ton, solid
Interior has oodles of room and awesome cooling.
i heard the samsung 244t has input lag, whats input lag?

When there is a delay between the output from your video card and the input on the display.

Ahhh nooo!!! I already have the 244T, and as far as input lag goes, the only time it ever appears to "lag" for me is when I first fire it up after it has been off for a few hours. After that either it warms up etc, or my eyes get used to it *shrugs*. And my display has no dead pixels woohoo!! GO SAMSUNG!
Anyone have specs on the 245T?

That monitor blows away any LCD on the market.

I agree. But it is dying on me...it has deffinily gotten darker...which means the tubes are going. not to mention its NOT 24..and its NOT widescreen...and its NOT bright.
it was an amazing monitor for its time...its time is gone though.

Well, As I just got my replacement 2405FPW and it is a thing of beauty, I really need to see some '245T's suck' user reviews:p . As in "should I have waited?"

I'm one of 244T users and it's a great monitor. I experienced no lag at all, I guess it depends with someone and their video card maybe? I too have no dead pixels, woot. :)
I'm curious about 245T, if it's like, uber better, then I might sell it and get 245T :P

I'm not sure of what issues you are talking about? I have been using the 244T now for two months and I really can't find any problem with this LCD. It handles movies, games and desktop jobs just fine. No glitches, lags, ghosting or other artifacts. Everything is perfect (except one dead pixel)

Get a 2405 and be happy. Currently, 2407 sucks and HDCP is bull****.

I am interested in the 244t but have a question about it, and hope you can help.
The stand is adjustable, but none of the specs say how adjustable. The stand looks fairly tall and I don't want to be looking up at the lcd.
At it's lowest setting what's the distance between the top of the desktop and bottom of the monitor?

I suggest looking at the Dell 2407wfp. They have now fixed the issues it had with colour banding and blurry text. And it is much cheaper than the Samsung 244t. Also, it lowers until the bottom is just a couple of inches off the table. I don't think the 244t lowers anywhere that much.
I'm going to be picking up a 2407wfp as soon as they are available in Canada. Should be pretty soon as they were released yesterday in the US.

Unfortunately the dell is not an option in my case.
I am working with a set number of options and the samsung 244t happens to be one of them.
