View Full Version : BF2 keeps kicking me to desktop?

I just built my own pc, and been having lots of trouble with lock ups, and other things. I installed BF2 and newest patch, and I have the newest Nvidia drivers for my eVGA 7900GT. When I try to play BF2 it tries to load a map and half way thru kicks me back to my desktop, I can however get it to play in 800x600, but if I raise that, then it kicks me out. Is this a vid card issue?
I have an AMD Operton 165, and MSI K8N Diamond plus mobo.
I also have xp w/ SP2 and all other windows updates.
have you run memtest86? ...if not give it a shot
You should prolly post your system specs.
I developed an identical issue with both BF2 and Oblivion....self inflicted. I installed a USB mouse (and keyboard) without enabling support for same in BIOS settings. Everyhting would work fine...just random, inexplicable drops to desktop. Removing and re-installing the mouse and drivers seems to have corrected the problem for me.
its not memory.. or your pc.. its BF2's copy protection.. it sucks balls. I upgraded my dieing cdrom with a dvdrw in my game comp and for my troubles, BF2 crashes on start up. To fix it I had to download a mini-image from the interweb and load it into Dtools.
