Hi All.

Having a problem with my card.. It's a 6600gt.

I got it probably early or mid last year, or something to the effect. It's been running fine until the past couple of months.

Lately, I've been getting a power message... here's what it looks like:

You'll notice the amount of boxes that come up. It seems to come up randomly and however many times it likes. Usually a few boxes every 10 minutes or so. But if I'm in applications like Battlefield 2.. When I try out higher graphical settings, once I click apply, what's in the screenshot is what happens. A million of them come up and it drags me out of the battlefield 2 window. If I set settings in a game like that above anything that's basically Low, I can't get back in the game.. eg; each time I try and enter, a bunch of those popups will come up again and drag me out of it. However when only a few are coming up, it doesn't seem to drag me out of the game.

The settings seem fine for me.. hardware-wise, I opened up the case a little while ago.. everything seems in order and operational and all connections appear tight. The PSU is just a generic 480W.. I can't remember the vaults but I read them out to a mate of mine who is a little bit more knowledgeable and he said it should run fine. I'm not over flooding the power.. Just a few usual low-power blue LED fans and 1 HDD fan running in there. I suppose I could take them out then try the card.

Once I click on the OK boxes on these things, nothing appears to happen. I've noticed nothing out of the ordinary apart from these messages, although sometimes (not this time) there is a farely faded (and thus pretty unnoticeable) white line near the top of my LCD.

The temporary solution I'm looking for is.. is there a way to disable these messages? In the long run I'd like suggestions to fix the problem itself, but I don't really have the patience for suggestions like sending the card back or getting a new PSU. As I say, it worked fine for a long while.

While I'm at it.. I was reading a Battlefield 2 tweak guide.. I downloaded RivaTuner but was unable to find the 'Additional Direct 3D settings' and set the 'Max frames to render ahead' 0 option. Could someone explain where this is?

My System:
Windows XP Home SP2
nForce2 Motherboard (Abit NF7)
AMD Athlon XP 3200+
1Gb DDR RAM
120Gb Seagate

Look forward to your reply. Thanks again.
