This game looks AWESOME.

You can customize your loadouts before you spawn, your experience can be used to unlock upgrades and extra equipment (sort of like a mini RPG) rather than just one gun per class, the graphics look much MUCH better in actual gameplay than they did in the trailer IMO. It could just be the shaky cam effect making it look more realistic, but the lighting, scenery and effects just look fantastic in this video.

This is a complete gameplay walkthrough of most of the features of the game... I deffinitely recommend watching it. Even if you dont have a fileplanet account, its worth the wait.

I belive DICE Canada has been doing that since BF2 released, and DICE Stockholm went straight into BF2142..
Which might explain why a few of the BF2 patches needed patches of their own..

watched the whole thing, looks like a fun game, the setting/timeline kinda appeals to me more than bf2 so i should have some fun with this one. :)

I am sure there are trade-offs the devs have to deal with... If they beefed up the graphics too much, we will end up with hordes of complaining 12 year olds who can run it smoothly at 800x600.

Must say this looks like a lot of fun!
The whole destroy the enemy battleship thinger looks pretty cool. Would be nice to play with some good team-play.
Graphics aren't really THAT amazing, but they're not bad at all.

It looks like a freaking mod to bf2. There's absolutely nothing that makes me really want this game. Oh wow, 1 new gameplay type... Big deal. I can't put my finger on it...it lacks excitement. The video didn't show any of the squad benefits.

I played it at E3 for about 10 minutes

- To me Graphics looks a tad better then BF2 but not much. With that said, some of the explosions and effects looked awesome. But you can't compare laser fire an hits to current real world weapon hits in the current game.
- Gameplay was defiently fun and a change to the current BF2 style gameplay

EA was having a 2142 hands on day for community leaders up in SF. I was invited by up to San Fran to play but could not make the trip from E3 and back to Vegas where I had some real world business meetings so I had to pass.

I really wanted to get up there and spend some quality time with the game but again real world got in the way damn it....

I was told there will be other opportunities for this in the future so maybe I will get a chance again and will pass along any info I can.

Yea, I dunno guys, I just don't like it. To me the graphics look identical, and like most said, a mod for BF2.

EA is trying to make a cash cow out of BF2 like they do with Sims. All these expansions which add few new items, then BF2142 a year after BF2 is announced.

I just think Quake Wars looks so much better overall. EA is killing Battlefield and it sucks :(

I'll agree with you 100% Jackup, QW looks so much better.

If I had to choose between QW and 2142 I would definitely go with QW. Both where playable at E3 and I spent almost equal time on both games.

QW not only looks better but seemed to play a bit better and be a bit more polished (granted they have been working on QW a lot longer or so it seemed)

Well yea I definetely believe that, QW does look more thought out, with better graphics, physics, etc. I think EA is forcing Dice to rush expansions and sequels out the door. :(

Ditto. Hell another IceAge, which genius thought up about that? Looks way too rushed and knowing EA/DICE you will probably need to download 1GB worth of patches to fix all the rushed and lame programming. I have a feeling that all the bugs in BF2 will be making an appearance in this game too.
