I think there is a really good chance it would. Not sure if it would require a vmod, but 580MHz has me STEPPING-UP!

I have 2 EVGA 7900 GT CO SUPERCLOCKS with the lame stock cooler running at 550MHz on the core. But the KO cooler is much better and covers the memory. So I will have cooler running cards and faster cores. Plus the whole Step-Up should only cost me $6 after shipping, since I bought each card a month ago for $359 each.

Can someone with the new 7900 KO Superclock use Nibitor 2.9 to extract the BIOS and see if they have raised the Core voltage on the 3D .

The question should be : are those new coolers more silent ? I hear alot of noise complaints from GT owners...

The fact that the cooler covers the memory is an improvement over my cards. And as far as the noice levels goes as long as its not louder than the stock cooler I am very happy.

lol yeah just for the heck of it I hooked my BFG cooler up to my PSU with a 2 pin to molex adapter. And OMG at full speed it was loud! And it only shaved 2c off my idle temps. :thumbdwn: I hooked it back up the way it was. :p not worth all that noise.

the cooler on the KO are almost silent or at least I could not hear my two.according to nibitor 2.9 they are just running at 40% in 3D.

So whats the voltage, 1.4v? I might just have to step up. Though I just put on the Vf900 on my SC, I'll pay a few bucks for the KO.

You are stepping up for almost no increase in cooling performance. Sure the memory chips are covered, but the difference will be minimal

You're right, im going to save my step up for something better.

I'm wondering how much is the GPU voltage on this card. Is it 1.2 Volts like the regular 7900GT?

On the regular 7900GT KO it is 1.2v but since they are getting 580 on the core I bet they have raised the voltage on the new KO Superclocks, because most will not do that with a 1.2v and when I over volted mine to 1.4v with the easy mod it went past 650 with no problems ,it would run at 656/1900 with no problems but I kept it at 625/1800 .
