Does it automatically detect which network driver to install, since there are two separate ones?

anyone with DFI Ultra-D nForce3 try this yet?
hehehe I'm very lazy to restart my computer to test this..

It does automatically detect which ethernet driver to use, both use different files and neither cross matches device ids's the installer will scan both infs for matching device id's and will only install the one that it detects is a match :)

Hi, im squall. the creator of this package

UPDATE.

DON'T DOWNLOAD THIS PACKAGE AT THIS POINT IN TIME.

Hi..working good here on my K8N Neo2 Platinum. Best driver i installed in a long while. Thanks.. Would i have to upgrade to the updated release package since its working fine for me?

Keep up the good support work for older mobos since nvidia dosent care!

Cheers

LOL
if its installed and working, then alls good.

the onl problem is that nvidia changed the damn structure n the installer again.

for awhile there i couldn't use the legacy folder.. but now i can again.. wierd...
the problem is since i didn't use the legacy folder on this pack, the ide driver doesn't install, it totally skips it.

squall_leonhart

the new pack fixes this.

can anyone confirm that the GART driver installs perfectly fine?

note

the download is not currently available
for those that downloaded the old version

go to the IDE/XP folder, and create a folder named LEGACY, then copy the files in the XP folder to the legacy folder (only the files)

this will allow the IDE driver to install.

can anyone confirm that the sata drivers install fine!

Rite. I taught the ide thing was done by you. Normal ms driver for ide and idesw for sata. Works for me. So should i update again?

Guess i can confirm that the agp 4.4.0 is installed properly and working fine..since the machine is now benching 3dmark06..

if you usually use the standard MS IDE then don't worry.

this is just an update for those who use the SWIDE for ata and parallel ata controllers

ALSO.
i need confirmation that these drivers will work on Parallel ata based nforce2 ultra motherboards

:D they gave me a decent boost in harddrive speeds

good to know the SATA ide worked.
it was what i was hoping as i made a couple of changes on the ide driver front.

for instance
all Parallel ATA and nforce 2 ata drivers are now in the legacy folder and install under the nvatabus.sys driver.
all Sata_IDE are stored in the SATA_IDE folder and install under the Nvata.sys driver.
(i found some issues where you can't install both.)

i had some issues last time with both using nvata or nvatabus

also i have added support for the MCP55SP parallel ata controller., this was missing in earlier sets.

updated package is now available

Updated! Same as before, pata defaults to ms driver, sata gets the swide. This is with saying yes to installing swide of course. Cheers.

thats totally wierd.

it installed the IDE 6.66 here... :( this is what happened with my last set.

it will install fine on the normal nforce 2 ata controller, but not on the Pata controller :(

wierd... try renaming the SATA folder to something else then rename the legacy folder to SATA_IDE and try installing then...

if this works i'll know whats up...

hmm.. but im pretty sure it sposed to be able to install the pata driver from legacy and the sata driver from sata_ide.

try installing manually.

if it tells you that i can't install the driver, because it can't find the source then thats the error i got.

i wasn't able to fix it.

i copied in an older driver and used the same setup and inf layout. and it worked fine though so somehow it rejects the driver....

I've never been able to get the IDE driver to work with my mobo, so I don't even try anymore. It just makes windows stay at the loading screen forever (and I mean forever).

I'll definitely give this pack a shot, though...just not the IDE driver.

squall_leonhart
05-20-06, 08:51 PM
yeah i've noticed some people can't.

but so far i've found that those that couldn't originally with the standard drivers have with mine... which is odd.. i must do something differently.

Hi..i did a manual install for pata controller. All normal now as before, with updated swide v666 for sata and pata. Thanks..ill let you sort out the installer.

Cheers

squall_leonhart

it might be becoz the installer won't install the driver from 2 different sources.. hmm...

well, i'll investigate, and see if i can just combine them all in the sata_ide folder...

but i don't know if that will fix it any...

well i just worked one thing out

an inf in the legacy folder has to be named nvatabus.inf or it won't be loaded. and an inf in sata_ide has to be called nvata.inf

squall_leonhart
05-20-06, 11:44 PM
hey firestarter.

can you copy this into the nvata.inf inside the sata_ide folder

GART driver 4.40 (stable beta)
Memory controller driver 4.40 (stable beta)

If they did make a new higher and fresher 4.40 driver or above i won't install those new driver patches, without Gart and the Mem Controller you won't get enough new speeds inside your PC.
If Nvidia rewrites the Gart or the Mem controller maybe we can have faster acces to newly level of experience, same for the other drivers include you won't get better when the bottleneck still be there...

squall_leonhart
05-21-06, 02:32 AM
...right...

you realise agp is dead in the eyes of nvidia's driver team.. right

and they don't need to make the memory controller driver anymore.. as they don't use it.

those 2 provide fixes for a couple of bugs in 4.36
