This will be the greatest thread in history. I'm getting out before I get burnt.
LeBron James is not even the best player today. How is he possibly better than the greatest of all time? He would have to learn how to play defense before even being mentioned in the same breath as MJ. Thanks for playing though.
Lebron is a special player.
He is big for his position, fast and very powerful and he also sees the court very well.
He has still got a lot to learn but he has the potential to be a very great player when all is said and done. Mentally he still has a ways to go in late game situations. People tend to gloss over his flaws because everyone has put their eggs in the Lebron James basket.
I am personally a bigger fan of Dwayne Wade coz he just performs, gets beat down and falls 6 times, gets up 7. He's a baller  and he's taken his team to the playoffs every season.
However you can't compare Lebron to Jordan. They are different players. Kobe would have as many assists a game as Lebron if his supporting cast didn't suck so much and he has a better feel for the games flow, taking it over at times when needed and when the opponent is susceptible to it.
Lebron > Jordan in hype. Jordan is still 6 rings, several scoring titles, NBA first teams, MVP's in the championships, all-defensive first team and many ripping opponents hearts out in clutch situations ahead of Lebron. Plus he performed in college.

Lebron can play pretty good defense. Just a season ago he was one of the top guys in the league in steals. He does a more than adequate job. A kobe or jordan he may not be but he does a commendable job.
Jordan has the better name for sure, i mean what kinda name is LeBron anyway?

Is Lebron greater than Jordan? Currently? No. However, I think Lebron has the potential to do what Jordan did (or better). Most people aren't even out of college at his age, and he is easily one of the top 3 players in the NBA. Give LeBron 5 or 6 years and he might end up playing like Jordan.

Agreed with most of you guys. LeBron is good but I think many are forgetting how amazing Jordan was. LeBron will be among the greats one day for sure but for now it will be fun for us to watch him develop.

The title of this thread makes me laugh....
I think Kobe can be related more to Jordan than Labron can
Kobe would have better numbers if his team-mates could knock down a shot or two.

you mean like when he had shaq, malone, and payton on his team? lmao. He'd have worse numbers because other people would actually help him out a bit.

You're basketball intellect astounds me. Even more than your retarded biases.

If your comparing LeBron at age 21 and Jordan at age 21, yea LeBron is better, he has ways to go to be compared to Jordan in his prime.

this is my point.
Lebron James right now is not better than Jordan at his peak. Of course not. However, Lebron James is hitting "Jordan" standards pretty fast and IMO I believe he will surpass him. Lebron James is an All around GREAT Player. Only two players I can compare him to are Jordan and Magic Johnson.
Lebron is still the age that he should be in college and he is doing quite well in the NBA. Hell, look how far he took his LOSER team? Thats saying something. His career stats for his age are around what Jordans were after 3 years in the NBA.

Kobe would have more titles, but not better numbers. Kobe is the "only" person on his team worth a damn. Same goes for Lebron James.
IMO, this is how I see it.
Best one on one player of all time: Kobe Bryant
Best All around player of all time: Michael Jordan(soon to be Lebron James)
Most Dominating Player in the NBA?: None other than Shaq. Shaq might not have the "skills" of most players, but he is hands down the most dominating force to ever join the NBA imo. If I could choose ANYONE to be on my team, it would be this 7 footer. I don't even like Shaq, but you cannot deny his presence.

I dunno. This is very subjective. Currently he is.

Oscar Robertson !!!

Shaq is dominant but I also have to give a nod to Wilt and Bill Russell. Those guys DOMINATED and were very atheletically gifted.
