Removing inventory items with console?

Is it possible to use the console to remove items form your inventory (since its possible to add them)? You cant drop quest items, but I have two of the same quest item (from a bug) and its preventing me from finishing the quest.

open counsel (~) anbd type :

player.removeitem xxxxxxxx (get this number by clicking the number while in counsle)
