For my brother's graduation gift, I'm giving him my two 6800GTs. My dad got him the exact same mobo I have on eBay, but he didn't read the description all that carefully and didn't see that it was a display version only. So it came with NOTHING but the motherbaord and hence, no SLI bridge.

However, I'm going to need a bridge for myself and I looked on eBay and found one that's got 3 days left and is already at $11. Who knows how high it's going to go? I tried looking on Gigabyte's site, but the tech support is FAR too invovled for just asking a simple question and I can't seem to find any stores that just sell the bridges.

Does anyone have an extra one they're willing to part with or know of a place that sells them?

It's the GA-K8N Ultra SLI motherboard.

FWIW aren't the 84.xx drivers supposed to enable SLI without the bridge?

SK, You may not want to spend too much time or worry until you test this on your current system.

If that's true, I won't worry about it, but is there somewhere I can double check to make sure? I thought that the bridge WAS required because the bandwidth between the PCIe slots was just too small to keep up with the what the texture data needed to go between both cards.

I know I read something at Anand or another site that tested this a while back and it definitely was NOT true. :-\

I think Asus has a website where you can order seperate parts. I believe they have a ribbon cable type SLI connector that you could use with the Gigabyte motherboard.

I finally went ahead and bought the Flex bridge from ASUS...it was $5 and the only two shipping options were FedEx Ground for $12 and FedEx Express for $22! WTF?!

I refer to this as the "Tiger Direct Trick" generally. ;)
