Guys,
I broke the space key on my current keyboard, and it was only 4 years old!!

So I need a new keyboard. Any ideas what good now days? And try to keep it under 30 bucks, if that is possible.

Thanks for any ideas you have. :D

I am using that at work right now, not the red one, the older blue one. The paint on the keys fades btw :(

At home I use teh g-15 :D

Any of the slightly older/more basic keyboard from microsoft or logitech would be just fine for you I think.

Personally, with all this talk about paint fading; I'm not sure I'd suggest one myself, or even buy one. You might want to look around some unless either they've addressed that problem in the newer version, or you don't mind blotchy keys...

The backlight on these things is a gimmick anyway. Saitek is a good company but this product really isn't anything earth shattering. Had I to do it over again I'd save the money and get something cheaper without the silly frills.

And do a shiny-torch trick like in blair-witch project?

Totally dood, I'm with you :D

I do think my g-15 was totally worth it though :D

For that price get Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000, nothing beats that under $30 (OEM price, without flashy box and without CD with drivers).

If you can spend more, Logitech G-15 is perfect as well, and not only for games, as its 3x 18 specials keys help you work faster, using macros and stuff like that. It looks cool as well, with its big LCD and backlit keys.

See if you can walk into a Circuit City, and find if they have the Saitek Gamer Keyboards on display. If you ask to buy it, it will go down to $10 bucks. That is what my keyboard is. It's practically the same as the eclipse except the backlight isn't built into the keys just around them. The paint also doesn't wear out on these.

Hmm, if the paint doesn't come off, might be something that would be worth a look. Whether the light goes under the keys, or through them wouldn't be any deal either, though a blotchy keyboard could be...

I love my Logitech G15. It is by far the best keyboard I have ever owned...it's so comfy and the typing action is flawless. But it is pretty big and expensive...

Once you get a G15, all other keyboards will seem infidel.

The problem with my G15 (which I love BTW) is the letters are starting to ware off.

I need s - e - p keys

It's about 8-9 months old.

Update just got off the phone with Logitech. They are sending me a completely new keyboard because of the letters wearing off my current G15.

I must say their service is as good as their keyboard.
