is anyone willing to confirm/deny using GTK+ runtime applications causes a performance hit in gaming, super_pi mod, and even memory bandwidth?
i run xchat-2,gaim, and firefox (not sure if this uses gtk+ or it's own proprietary gui api?) and my performance definitely seems to be affected.
