View Full Version : BFG GeForce FX 5500 OC PCI 256MB DDR Won't take drivers help! help!

I own a BFG GeForce FX 5500 OC PCI 256MB DDR. For some odd reason
everytime I try to install the most resent drivers for this card and it says the following error message. Nvidia Setup error - The Nvidia Setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. I've put this same card in another computer and it did the same thing. Do you think you guys could be cool and help me out and post me an updated bios for this card? Please create the file with most resent bios reversion so all I have to do is put a floppy in my drive and it will format the bios file and everything so when I go to reboot from my floppy drive, all I'll have to do is follow the prompts. Anyway! this would be a big help if you can do it.

Did you disable onboard video? Also, which drivers are you trying to install?

Yes I disabled everything in the bios. I was trying to use ForceWare Release 80 Version: 84.21 Release Date: March 17, 2006 WHQL Certified*
So far I've had no luck. This is an older pc I use off and on.


Older computer hardware specs:

AMD K6 475MHz
(BFG 5500 FX OC 25GMB DDR)
384MB Ram
Creative Sound Blaster Live!
Maxtor 40GB IDE-HDD
Windows XP Pro SP2

Go into device manager and click the + next to display adapters, what devices do you see listed there?

In device manager under display adapters I don't even see the 5500 FX
listed. I'm going to have to RMA the card to BFG soon. Thank you for your help on the matter never the less. ;)

i have the same problem.

computer spec is
pentium 4
3.06 ghz
512 mb ram
200gb harddrive

it appears on the device manager but it isnt installed

I cured my problem. I sent the card back to BFG for RMA and got a brand new one sent back to me in less then two weeks. :D

I have a similar problem, Device manager says its installed.. but when I switch over to that card all I get is a blank screen (Now I get half a screen blank.. the other half a teal color O_o) - Its like windows just doesn't like the card
