I bought a Saitek Eclipse a couple of months ago, and have been pretty disappointed by it. The biggest flaw is that it does not handle multiple keypresses well, so it's worthless for some games.

I need to find a replacement. Does anyone have a suggestion for a keyboard with:

Good tactile feedback
Keys that are fairly quiet
USB interface
Supports multiple keys being pressed
Standard key layout as opposed to "ergonomic"

I don't need any of the fancy, multimedia options. What I really want is a USB version of my old IBM keyboard :D

I've been using a diNovo (the one for laptops) for the past few months -- for some reason I quite like laptop keyboards, and that's the closest I've found to a full-sized one (apart from the full-sized diNovo which is Bluetooth and therefore = teh suck).

Not sure it would be very good for twitch gaming though!

This one. Its a laptop style only full size. Its ultra fast for gaming since there is not much key movement. Best keyboard I have used, and for $20 you can't beat it.

I have a logitech G15 and I love it. It's by far the best keyboard I have ever used. It does have a whole pile of extra keys though, which you don't want. But it has all of the things you want in the list.

Any of the MS Natural keyboard variants. Edit: Actually, sorry. My recommendation isn't good. I missed one of your points.

I finally got my G15 only ordered it 4 months ago!!! Huge backorders for these keyboards. Loved my Dinovo bluetooth keyboard set as i could hook up my mobile phone. But this G15 seems pretty good, although i have only used it for less then an hour so far.

I have the Ultra X Media which is basically the follow up kb to the Ultra X. I don't think it retails in the USA....

Anyway, I have it as a spare kb to the Saitek Gamer kb. both great kb, not too big in size and still featuring a non-cramped key layout.

I agree I bought one not long ago after creating a similar thread to this. The best use of $20 on a peripheral I can think of.

I tried an Ultra-X before settling on my diNovo, which I prefer for numerous reasons (it doesn't feel as "cheap" for a start). Each to his/her own I guess :)
