Is there a utility or something within XP that allows you to see when it was first installed? I'm curious as to how long I've been running with this particular installation.

There is. Wish I could remember how to launch it or what to put in but I know it can be done from a cmd prompt. Sorry I'm not more help there. lol
Check the "Date Created" field for your Windows\System32 folder ;)

That works. Thanks. :)
You can also type "systeminfo" in cmd line.
systeminfo.exe fetches the wrong install date for me:
Original Install Date: 2005-05-07, 17:24:05
Whereas psinfo.exe (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896649.aspx) gets me the correct date:
Install date: 2009-10-09, 17:49:02
Why is this? Any clues? I searched the systeminfo.exe given date string on Google and got some hits, why this date? What's special about it?
Regards~

Maybe the systeminfo takes in account any SP's installed?

I didn't read the last post date. It just came up on my "Unread posts since last visit" list so I assumed it was current. (nana2)
