Low 3Dmark 05/06 scores after upgrade to 7900GT

Hey guys, I just upgraded from my Vanilla 6800 to a 7900GT. I expected to see quite an increase in performance, but it's just not there. After I ran 3dmark 05/06 I noticed that my scores seemed to be low. These scores are after a vmod to 7900 GTX which only netted me a 300 point increase over stock.

I didnt get nearly the increase I should have in oblivion either. I dont know if this prescott is too slow or if the ram is. Any ideas... I've changed drivers and it has not had any effect either.

Possibly a tad low but in general they seem fine to me. These results are a little old but here is what I got with an X1900XTX (650/1550) and 7800 GTX 512 (580/1750) with an X2 4800+ running at 2.58ghz.

Actually, I'm not sure those were at the default res. Here are some later results with the cpu at 2.6ghz and later drivers for all cards.

05 seems very low ( I get 6700 on a single card and over 10,000 in SLi), 06 looks right though......

With an AMD 3800+ single core @2520 and a stock clocked 7800 GTX 512 (550/1700) I get the following
3DMARK 05 - 9634
3DMARK 06 - 4658

I agree the 06 looks fine but the 05 looks a little low on your setup.

Yeah now that I look around, the 05 does seem very low. I think I may wait and get a conroe pc when that comes out, but it does bug me. Some games run faster but some (like oblivion) didnt get the performance boost I was hoping for.
