Is there anyone out there that agrees with me? I can probably name 5 people who certainly deserved it way over Nash. I even "like" Nash as a player and person, but he shouldn't have gotten that award. Since when has a few assists gotten MVP? ONE extra assist is all he had to the next guy in leading assists for the year. That one extra assist gives him the right to have MVP? Please. Not only that, but all of his other stats are completely laughable.

3 likely candidates.

Lebron James. All around good stats. Is definitely up there with Magic and Jordan. The guy is nearly averaging a triple double. Great shooter. 3rd in the league in points per game for season and FIRST for points per game in playoffs. Great Passer. Great Rebounder. Great LEADER. He took a worthless team like the Cavs extremely far. He definitely deserves MVP.

Dirk Nowitzki. Again, all around good stats. The fastest "tall" guy in the NBA I have ever seen. He is dominating in the playoffs and is the main reason why the Mavs are going to win the championship.

Dwayne Wade. Supreme shooter and assists. When heat is down, Wade always turns it up a notch. Shaq and Wade are making a killer combo that are the soul reason why Heat is as far as they are.

Hell, I would have been more happy with Kobe Bryant making MVP than Nash. Kobe is nothing but a good shooter and a ball hog, but he is all his team has. I dont think he deserved MVP, but definitely more than Nash.

Of the one person who I think that should of got it, it would have to be a close call between Dirk and Lebron.

Is Nash a great player? Yes, absolutely. MVP Worthy? I dont think so.

i agree more than typed words can express. during his series against the mavs... he was inconsistent. his shooting was okay in little spurts, but Dirk (besides game 3) always got about 20 points. and Nash fell apart as Dallas figured out how to throw people at him. there are numerous people who deserve it over him. lets see...

Dirk, D-Wade, K Bryant, Ben Wallace, Allen Iverson. just to name a few. It was the biggest waste of voting to have Nash win it.

What the f*cking hell makes him so damn special? everyone of the annoucers during his games acted as if he could do no wrong! and where is he now????? wathcing the flippin games from his flippin couch.

You guys are a bunch of idiots. Oh let me guess, you're one of those guys who thinks Nash got the MVP becasue he is white.

Nash deserves the MVP and here is why. Take Nash away from Phx. Instead of a finals team, the Suns would be one of the worst teams in the NBA. Marion wouldn't score more than 13-14 points a game if it wasn't for Nash, and Diaw and Barbosa? Forget it. Nash turn everyone on the floor into a top 50 player, and to top it off he can score well.

Lebron - would have been my second choice for MVP so not really disagreeing with you there. Lebron has a few problems though. He's too selfish with the ball, and his court-vision isn't anywhere near as developed as Nash's is. An MVP needs to make his entire team play better, something that Lebron still needs to work on. Lebron is learning pretty fast though, and he's gonna get several MVPs in the upcomming years.

Dirk? LMAO are you ****ing kidding me? You just like him because he looks like you. Dirk is a good player, but take him away, and the mavs still have a half decent team - probably would still make the playoffs. He's a great shooter, but he can't play D worth a crap, and he lacks the ability to make the other players on the floor play better.

Wade - pretty good, but I garuntee you if he didn't have Shaq the heat wouldn't be in the championship. Wade won't win it for the same reason Kobe didn't win it. You have to prove that YOU are the reason your team is winning, not Shaq.

You can't just go by stats and say "OMG HE ONLY GOT& 1ONE EXTRA ASSIST!" You have to see him in action to appreciate what he does for the suns.

Very very true Zelda. ill agree with your points... but i come from the camp of people who see MVP as most valuable player.. not most valuable team member. I dont agree wiith voters using his affect on a team as a crutch to give it out. i am a person who feels its about the individual.

i agree, the suns would be horrible without him, but that just shows he is the team leader. he doesnt stand out as a player. i wouldnt pick him up if i was playing some playground ball. i prefer a goto guy, and consistent, gonna-get-it-done guy. this is not nash.

EDIT: no im not a nash-got-it-cause-he's-white person, nor doo i like Dirk cause he looks like me

Wow, you really shouldn't post about things you know nothing about. Where is LBJ's first team all-defensive team award? Oh that is right, he doesn't play any. LeBron has said on many occasions that Kobe Bryant is the best perimeter player in the league. Dwayne Wade has made arrangements to work out with Kobe this off-season to improve his defense. Ballhog? Kobe Bryant leads all non-point guards in assists over the last 6 years. Stick to computers, where you as equally uninformed, but it goes basically ignored. Oh that is right, there was that one night where LBJ's Cavs were down by 18 in the third quarter to the Raptors and he scored 81 points to lead his team to victory, doh, sorry that was Kobe. But there was that game against Dallas where LBJ was beating the opponent by a margin of 62-61, oops, Kobe again.

I seriously doubt you will find one person to support your views on that, and im sorry to say but I'm probably one of the biggest Kobe Bryant supporters on this forum. Sucks to be you. :o

Let me preface this response by saying that Zelda is a PHX Suns fanboi hence he is naturally biased and blinded towards Nash

You guys are a bunch of idiots. Oh let me guess, you're one of those guys who thinks Nash got the MVP becasue he is white.

Yes, no white players deserve MVP's.

Larry Legend was black.

Marion has always scored, he doesn't need set plays to score and thats why he is so important to the Suns. He would score 15 ppg just from hustle plays as he has done his entire career.

Without Nash they would be middling and no better than the Kings were. I doubt they would be a lottery team because they made it to the playoffs a coupla years in a row and that lends resiliency to a team. Not ALL the players were new and Diaw has added another dimension to the team.

Lebron being selfish is news to me.

He is about the most unselfish player in the league who is a premier scorer. Look at his stats and watch the games he plays. Yes, he sometimes settles for the jumper too much but a lot of times.

His court vision actually is just as developed as Nash's. His team-mates unfortunately are not quite as adept at catching the ball as he is at passing.

Dirk has almost single-handedly carried his team through the last season, when everyone thought they would fail post-Nash and this season. He has improved his numbers nicely AND he has almost single-handedly guided his team to the finals. He also had his share of blocked shots in the last coupla games against YOUR phx suns. How many big defensive plays did Nash make during the series? Or the year for that matter.

Wade - pretty good, but I garuntee you if he didn't have Shaq the heat wouldn't be in the championship. Wade won't win it for the same reason Kobe didn't win it. You have to prove that YOU are the reason your team is winning, not Shaq.

Wade has taken his team to the playoffs every year. As has Shaq. But unlike the lakers who barely won when Shaq was out, Wade ensures that the Heat remain competitive and WIN when shaq is out. Wade has already proven he is the reason the team is in the Finals and has been in the playoffs the last couple of years.

It was HIS injury and not the thigh injury to Shaq that really hurt Miami last year and prevented them from winning it all.

Wade is about as good as they come and he will only get better.

You can't just go by stats and say "OMG HE ONLY GOT& 1ONE EXTRA ASSIST!" You have to see him in action to appreciate what he does for the suns.

I love watching Nash and yes, he is a huge part of the Suns drive but no single player deserved it more this season than Kobe.

He contributed more to his teams presence in the playoffs than any other player in the league and his lowly Lakers were one shot away from eliminating the much better Suns. He single-handedly won numerous games for the Lakers and had to put up with Kwame's inability to catch or finish and Lamar's inability to find more than one active brain-cell at the end of games.

He led his team on the offensive end, in the locker room AND on the defensive end. Where was Nash on defense? Oh thats right, brushing his hair from his eyes while being dunked on.

Kobe would have a higher field goal percent had he not had to take so many desperation shots to bail his team out and he would have a much higher assists total if his team-mates could just knock down a shot or two.

Nash is a great player and one of the best at his position. He did not deserve it last season and he doesn't deserve it this season.

Did ben wallace win MVP for leading his team defensively into the playoffs? I don't recall that taking place.

Why do you spout crap on this board that you wouldn't dare say to my face? You are another of those keyboard toughguys that I consistently have to deal with. You failed to respond to one single comparison I made between your golden child and the legitimate league MVP this season. How is LeBron's defense coming? That's right, a little more quickly than his jumper.

Agree 100% other than the fact Kobe should have won MVP. Kobe would be my 3rd or 4th choice. I would have been ALOT more happy if he did win MVP over Nash though. Nash is in the late 20's of choice for being MVP. He just isn't worth it.

At least there is one person here who knows his basketball ;) . Good job Sazar

Although I am not worth responding to, you do so anyway and continue on to mention that you have a 20-1 boxing record. Well, son, I wouldn't plan on having a cornerman around if we met up. I know your type though and you would never agree to a meeting for a mutual "discussion" of our relative respect for each other. If you're a golden glove fighter, why don't you post your record? You are an internet poser and I have seen a photo of you. You do not want to roll around with me, but if you do, my PM box is available for arrangements. Honestly, who cares about MVP awards if there aren't any championships to go with them? How proud do you think K. Malone is of his? The voters admitted that they were just tired of voting for M.J. and the true MVP won those two finals.

I'll take Final's MVP over regular season MVP anyday. It means you won when it really counted.....no bloated stats from playing weak teams.

This year, it's highly likely that the Final's MVP will be either Wade or Dirk.....regular season MVP contenders who performed at very high levels against the past two NBA champs.
