ASUS P5N32-SLI Incompatible with 7950 GX2

Hey Guys,

For the love I have for Nvidia products I was quick to purchase the 7950 GX2 which I am really excited about. Except I have one major issue and that is according to the Nvidia website my motherboard has neither been tested or approved. Tons of Asus Motherboards have been tested to work, but not the ASUS P5N32-SLI Deluxe:( . Maybe the card will still work on my motherbaord when FedEx delivers my 7950 GX2, but I can't figure out my my motherboard is not on the support list.

The P5N32-SLI Deluxe is the only Intel SLIx16 board available. Even the ASUS P5ND2-SLI is listed.

What's going on?

Do I need to revert to my 7900 GTS?

I dont want to open the brand new EVGA 7950 GX2 box without knowing it will work with my system.

That list is only the boards nV has gone through testing. If you notice, my board is not on the list either.

I don't think I'd open it unless you have a bios update. From what I've been reading in reviews, if the bios isn't updated, the card won't be correctly recognized by the system. So, I don't think I'd risk it.

Nevermind then. :) The reviews made it sound like it wouldn't work without a bios update to make it properly recognized.

Hey jAkUp I have another question for you though. I just steped-up to 2 EVGA 7900 GT KO Superclocked. Do you think that those 2 overclocked cards would be faster than one 7950 GX2? Obviously the 7950 GX2 has more memory (and that will be great for the future) but what about the here and now with games? I have the 2 7900 gt KO Superclock still sitting in the plastic and then the 7950 GX2 will be here today. I was going to sell the 7900 GTs on eBay or something to make up for my fat purchase of the 7950 GX2.

That's great to hear )))) ) ) ) ) ) (nana2) If there would have been a problem Asus would have been working hard on a new bios update.
