If you have a 7950 and have overclocked it, please post the clock and memory speeds that you are able to get it to. Please list which brand/model you have.

Thanks.

Find optimal chose 550/700 (stock is 500/600). I haven't tried to go past that yet.

Has it been stable clokcing it to the XFX XXX speeds?

I've just used 550/700 so far. My 3DMark06 score went from 7716 to 8047 with that overclock. I'll try the XXX speeds now to see how that goes. I still need to loop Deep Freeze with the overclock settings to make sure it's completely stable but it was fine running through 3DM06 twice. No artifacts or anything.

How did that work out?

OWA: what brand do you have?

Thanks.

I have MSI. I think it's strictly a reference design.

I'm trying 570/750 now. I didn't want to jump straight to the XXX speeds so I'll edit this post once 3Dmark06 is done running to let you know how it went.

570/750 seemed to do okay. Bumped my 3DM06 score up to 8163. I'll try the full XFX XXX specs now (570/775).

Bear in mind though, this is just passing one iteration of 3DMark06. To confirm it's completely stable I'll need to do more than that.

Edit: The oc test doesn't want to let me past 770. So, I'm trying 570/770 instead.

Edit 2: Since the overclock didn't change things greatly from the optimal detected overclock, I'm just sticking with 550/700 for now. I've been looping Deep Freeze and it seems fine. The card idles pretty high but the temp didn't really change all that much while looping Deep Freeze so that's good.

I was still hoping for much higher results, I'm hoping someone can eventually get near the 7900 speeds. I hit 10,000 in 3D06 so seeing these results is kind of a drag, I still haven't seen any 7950's break the 9000's yet.

New Score Update for me (oc'd my fx60 to 2.8 with help from shungokusatsu

3dmark05: 14188
3dmark06: 8974 (just need 26 more points to get to your magic #)

by the way this is the XFX XXX edition as is out of the box.

This card isn't going to break any speed records, until QUAD SLI is generally released, which I think is going to sooner rather than later, I've heard as early as next week. nVidia STILL hasn't released a WHQL driver that supports the 7950. My guess is that the next WHQL with 7950 will have QUAD SLI support. Just a guess of course.

kwynjunk,

I'm getting the XXX tomorrow, you have almost the same system as I (I've got a an X2 4800+ CPU OC'ed to 2.6, so you'll get a little better scores than me).

Try oc'ing the GPU and see how that goes. I'd be curious, but wouldn't expect much.

Thanks!

With a little more o/c and some great cooling, you can hit the mid 9000's. You wouldn't believe how much more points you can get if those cards were runing around say 30C. :D

Actually there are official drivers that come on the CD that ships with the card, I'm not sure of those drivers are WHQL certified but those should be comming along very shortly. I doubt it will support Quad SLI as the current ones o nthe CD do not allow it, only the beta drivers do. Rumors from computex are saying Quad SLI official drivers should come out at the end of the month. And there's a few reviews out on the XFX XXX 7950, including some o/cing which yielded some negative results when o/c too high.

Actually, I'm gonna hold of on OC'ing this GPU further than it comes until I see some results from others. If I change my mind, I'll post the results immediately. I want to at least wait until I get one of my tornados in the case blowing across the video card. I don't really feel like putting in one of these obnoxiously loud fans until my fan controller comes from Newegg in a couple days.

Understandable, but by all means push the hell out of that FX 60, she's made for it :D

Hey jAkUp: Did you try overclocking each of your 7950's individually before putting them in together?

Just curious.

No.. I just tried them as a whole.

This isn't my maximum overclock though, I just kinda picked it and stuck with it for now.. I may try to push it later, but really, I don't see much of a point till I get my Conroe :D

OWA, is there much improvment from yoru SLIed 7800GTX 512Megs?? I have SLI 256Megs, I am really inclined to purchase 7950GX2.:D

Comparing the 7950 to the 7800GTX 512s in SLI, the 7800GTX 512s are still slightly faster but mine are also factory overclocked (580/875). When overclocking the 7950 (I essentially bought a reference card and stock is 500/600) I can get pretty close. I'd say it would be worth it for you especiallly if you can sell your current cards to recoup some of the cost. I got a pretty good bump in speed going from the 7800 GTX 256 SLI to 7800 GTX 512 SLI and the 7950 (especially when overclocked) is just a little behind the 7800 GTX 512. I think the 7950 should be faster than you current setup and it also gives you a 512M card.

I received my EVGA card from Monarch last night.

detect optimal setting selected 550/700.

I havent had time to play with it ran 3mark06 just to make sure 3d was fine.
I got what seems like an awfully low score somewhere in the high 4000 like 4800 ish.

Seems weird because I had 7045 here with ,my 7900GTS
Here
http://service.futuremark.com/orb/projectdetails.jsp?projectType=14&projectId=249695

and this is my score when I had my x1900xt
here:
http://service.futuremark.com/orb/projectdetails.jsp?projectType=14&projectId=321022

I believe that i set everthing to performance, im familiar on how to set things in the control panel but maybe with this new control panel I may have missed something?

and thought on what I may have missed thanks in advance.
