AMD 4800 @ 2.47Ghz
XFX XXX 7950 @ 585 / 811

Fear @ 1920 x 1200 30/37/60
(Max everything, softshadows diabled 16 AF 4AA)

Looking round the web these numbers seem a bit low to me. Do people test with v-sync diabled? (The results above are with it enabled)

Most other scores post between 60 - 70 fps average for the same set-up

I was thinking the same thing recently...
I found my 6800 Ultra didn't quite cut it in some games... e.g. I'm now playing Farcry for the first time (and loving it BTW) on my X1900 XTX
I'll get a next gen R600 / G80 and enjoy FEAR then without compromising on the
visual bells and whistles.

OK,

Some updates.

33/63/133 0%/13%/87% @1920 x 1200

I noticed that I was getting the same average frame rate of around the mid 40's independant of the graphic settings or resolution.

A quick browse round Fear's Forums website suggested that the Logitech G7 mouse might be the problem, I removed the receiver and vola!, the above results.

You guys are benching with softshadows AND AA enabled? I thought a bug in the game cancelled them out when enabled together..or did they fix that in the last patch? Just curious, thanks.

Umm, I'm running it 1680*1050 2X All max except softshadows

All I remember from the benchmark is 61fps was the minimum, the rest really doesnt matter too me. Dropped down from 1920*1200 just to smooth the gameplay out and looks equally as jaw dropping.. :D

Yes, been set like this for a week with no problems at all.

Some results since i'm bored..

1920*1200 2XAA 55/93/206
1920*1200 4XAA 53/72/170
1920*1200 4xAA Softshadows 51/78/170

Dunno how the average goes up with softshadows enabled but it does... ran it three times to check...

Thanks I'm gonna try that tonight. FEAR runs alright on my system in 1920x1080,4xAA/8xAF but it gets to be a little choppy in certain areas. Just want to make sure I'm getting what I'm supposed to be getting from this GX2.

Soft Shadows don't work properly with 4xAA enabled. I'm guessing that's why.

Riptide

I have soft shadows turned off.

Sorry Rip, I should have quoted. I was referring to Shocky's post with the benchmarks. :)
