I really want to sell my dual 7900GTs and get a 7950x2 for the extra 512 memory but I'm not sure my mb will work. I see there is a beta bios for the mb but it is a few months old and I'm not sure it will make the mb compatable with the 7950x2.

I have the XFX XXX edition of the card and it comes OC'd to 570/1550 I think.

I don't know if my Mobo ASUS A8N32 is tthe same thing as yours though. Is it?

No :( it's not. I have the 8x/8x SLI board. The Premium version of my board is supported but Nvidia doesn't list the Deluxe version.

I have the Premium version, but I was under the assumption that the only difference in the delux and the Premium was little "pointless" features added on like more SATA spots that I'll never use. Other than that, I thought they were the same thing? Am I wrong?

You can order it from Newegg. Try it. If it doesn't work, send it back. If it does, then sell your other cards.

Newegg reasonable with returns? I've bought plenty of things from them but never returned anything.

Not sure, but I bought a 7900gtx on May 20. I am RMAing this week. I just told them I wanted to buy something else. The way he made it seem was that it didn't matter that I wanted to buy something else. He said I could RMA it anyway.

From my experience they have been great customer service-wise!!!!

I don't want to make any guaruntees or speak on their behalf, but i personally dont think you'll have a problem

Think Newegg will RMA my 2 Leadtek 7900GTs I got from them on 3/20/06?

Just go to there website and do a live chat with customer service. They're really good.

Newegg sometimes has special restrictions for motherboard returns. Be sure to read the fineprint.

Regardless of restrictions, all it takes is a call to customer service upset and they always see things your way.

I think the premium has a heatpipe and the deluxe does not.

I think the premium has a heatpipe and the deluxe does not.

Another difference in the Premium is that it does not have the selector card between PCIE slots to flip if you change between SLI and single card, the board automatically detects it.

Anyway, my XFX XXX arrives today according to ZZF tracking, so a bios flash on my Premium is in order, then some high res goodness....

I have the straight A8N-SLI and they haven't released an update for it yet.

I'm running a Point of View 7950GX2 on a A8N-SLI-SE with Bios revision 0502 (latest BIOS from Asus). :D just up and running silky smooth( not even updated my sig yet..)

from Asus site:

A8N-SLI SE Bios version 0502 2006/03/24 update (arround same date as all other "updates" for GX2)

1- Fixed system hangs on POST while installing some PCI-E x16 VGA cards. ( (nana2) )
2- Update AWDFLASH to V1.17

Would it be worth upgrading my current set up to a 7950?
