What is the best AGP video card for around $150? My little brother needs a video card pretty bad and this is how much he can spend around. If he had PCI-E this wouldn't be a problem, but with AGP it is getting harder and harder to find good cards for a good price.

BTW, I don't care if its ATI or Nvidia. I might be an Nvidia fanboi, but I also know that ATI usually has better cards for AGP.... I'm not sure how true this is now.

I'd recommend a 256Mb 6600GT for that price range.

A 256Mb 7600GS AGP would be great but they wont be out until next month. If it can wait a bit longer, you might want to get one of those.

is a 6600GT faster than an X1600Pro? Granted, I would rather my brother have an Nvidia card due to myself being prejudice ;) , but I also want him to get the best for his money/my money(i told him I'd help him pay for half).

Also, about the 7600GS... I'd RATHER wait and get that card because I know of how good it would be for him, but knowing Nvidia they will charge some absurd amount for it when it reaches agp

Im not real sure about the x1600pro myself. Nvidia is supposedly aiming for the $120-$150 price range for the AGP 7600GS though. Itd be worth it to wait.

Another vote for the 7600GS AGP. If you can wait that will be the card to get.

yes, the 6600GT stock almost always wins, even vs the overclocked version of the 1600pro, the only thing the pro seems to win is 3dmark, which doesnt matter, and oblivion
