DirectX install Question?

Question, when going to install the DirectX 9 update, it asks me to find a directory to place it in. I just extract all the contents to the desktop and then install it. Am I doing this correctly? :)

Yes, and there is a web update, I believe as well, where you don't have to do that, it'll install itself. But I always d/l the big offline file and install it myself.
