You ride a motorcycle without a helmet, and you're asking for trouble. His career is in serious jeopardy, especially if his knee injuries are as serious I'm hearing.

One thing that one of my favorite sports radio hosts said was that helmet laws shouldn't exist (which I agree with, along with seatbelt legislation). But, motorcycle riders should be mandated to register for the organ donor registry. This way, they would have their organs available to "someone who values them more than they (the riders) do."

He will wear a helmet with a 300lb lineman running toward him, but WON'T wear a helmet with 4000lb car heading toward him. :screwy:

There was also a rumor he was :alc:

I highly doubt that. About an hour before the wreck he did an interview with the Chicago sports talk morning show. I heard the whole thing and he didn't sound plastered at all.

In the Uk it is a legal requirment to wear a crash helmet when riding a motorcycle. I cant see why it not one in the US. If people want to crack open the skulls when they crash its their fault and honestly I have no sympathy. Same with wearing leathers.

Some states it is, others it isn't.

Michigan has been trying to make it legal to ride without a helmet and it looks like it's going to pass this year.

Being a former cafe bike rider and a future Harley rider I in my right mind cannot figure out why they would make it legal to ride without one.

Maybe his ring has gone to his head lol. He doesn't seem to plan on wearing a helmet or stop riding anytime soon either.

Very well stated but never-the-less, hopes he recovers and is still able to play ball next season. Hopefully this incident knocked some sense into 'em, no pun intended, and he decides to wear a helmet next time.

Found out today he had expired Motorcycle license. But no alcohol.
