Well I tried several install versions with the one I had, and then grabbed the new DIVX version. In WMP 11 it won't show the video. Installing the DIVX player solves this, though is another player.

Unfortunately my universal player, which played OGG files and a lot of other stuff won't work. Just a heads up...

Have you tried the newer build of Power DVD 7 ?

It's awesome now, they fixed the Xvid problem.

Nah, haven't tried... The other question that would of course come up with any media player under Vista, is how have people found it running, well compatibility wise?

A good universal, will play anything player would be good, actually, as long as it runs under Vista, for this install here

That's good to hear, because I thought it was crap and I love PowerDVD. One problem I was having with PDVD7 was on Revenge of The Sith, it kept showing names at the top of the screen. I don't know why though. Subtitles were off and I couldn't find any other type of setting that would have seemed to effect it. PDVD6 doesn't do that.

WMP11 on Vista shows divx movies here on my laptop. But it's very slow with the default settings.

One quick question... Which are you using? I'm using Vista-64, not the 32-bit version...

WMP 11 plays Divx fine here too (though I'm using 32 bit), I hate wmp 11 for one thing for some weird and unknown reason it removed the ID3 tags of my most played songs...
